  • Night Diver: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Elizabeth Lowell
    • Narrated By Justine Eyre
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

After a family tragedy, Kate Donnelly left the Caribbean behind forever. But a series of bad management decisions has left her family's diving and marine-recovery business drowning in red ink. Now her brother pleads with her to come back to the island nation of St Vincent. Without Kate's financial expertise, the iconic treasure-hunting enterprise started by her grandfather will go under. Unable to say no to the little family she has left, Kate heads back to the beautiful and terrifying ocean that still haunts her nightmares.

    Sharyn says: "Narrator"
"Story good, but the voices irratating."
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

To read yes, but to listen to no. I have over 300 books in my library and I've never not finished an audiobook because of the person reading it, but this was awful.

Would you recommend Night Diver to your friends? Why or why not?

    Read yes, listen NO!!!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Justine Eyre?

Don't know, couldn't get pass the voices.

Do you think Night Diver needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Elizabeth Lowell is a fantastic story writer. I will read the book but I'm going to have to wait until I can get over the reader's voice before I read from scratch.

    Any additional comments?

Didn't someone listen to this book before they allowed this person to read the entire thing.

  • The Twilight Before Christmas

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 49 mins)
    • By Christine Feehan
    • Narrated By Teri Clark Linden
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Best-selling novelist Kate Drake is one of seven sisters gifted with amazing powers of witchcraft. Returning home in time for her northern California town's annual Christmas pageant, Kate catches the spirit of the season and decides to open a bookstore in a charming but run-down historic mill. Decorated former U.S. Army Ranger Matt Granite, now a local contractor, doesn't mind working in the undeniably eerie house -- not if it means getting closer to Kate. There's something about the quiet, sensual woman that powerfully attracts him.

Paige says: "Narrator so bad I quit after 5 minutes"
"Very good book. Enjoyed the entire series."
Where does The Twilight Before Christmas rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

I started this series with the last book in the series. Each of the books are stand alone as well as part of the series. I really enjoyed each one, but the time of year for this one was great for the season.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the connection with family more than anything else.

Have you listened to any of Teri Clark Linden???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    I have not.

    Any additional comments?

    Good author

  • Black Hills

    • UNABRIDGED (16 hrs and 51 mins)
    • By Nora Roberts
    • Narrated By Nick Podehl
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

A summer at his grandparents' South Dakota ranch is not 11-year-old Cooper Sullivan's idea of a good time. But things are a bit more bearable now that he's discovered the neighbor girl, Lil Chance, and her homemade batting cage. Even horseback riding isn't as awful as Coop thought it would be. Each year, with Coop's annual summer visit, their friendship deepens from innocent games to stolen kisses, but there is one shared experience that will forever haunt them: the terrifying discovery of a hiker's body.

    "black hills"

I think this is one of NOra Roberts best novels. The characters are defined so that you feel you know them and are part of their lives. Action packed...great read.
