This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I enjoyed many of the other books, but hearing it on audio made it a poor experience. Pehaps much younger kids would enjoy iy.

    Yes

How did the narrator detract from the book?

empashasis on words seemed innapropriate. Distracting. Tone seemed off. Pacing seemed off. It really distracted from the book. I did not like the narrator.

    Annoying.

When we last left the mighty wizard detective Harry Dresden, he wasn't doing well. In fact, he had been murdered by an unknown assassin. But being dead doesn't stop him when his friends are in danger. Except now he has nobody, and no magic to help him. And there are also several dark spirits roaming the Chicago shadows who owe Harry some payback of their own. To save his friends - and his own soul - Harry will have to pull off the ultimate trick without any magic....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

First of all, I love the Dresden Files. Addicted. While the narrator, John Glover, I'm sure is perfectly great, after 12 books with James Marsters narrating, he really MAKES the series. It's like replacing Gandalf (Ian McKellen) with Pee-Wee Herman in Lord of the Rings. It just doesn't work. Ok, ok. That's a bit harsh. John Glover seems solid, but I started playing the book and well, I thought the story was being told by Butters. Nope. They changes the narrator. He just now sounds like butters through the entire book. While the book is good, I can't get past the change in narrators. So, my advice. Read the book instead!Thank goodness I found Side Jobs in between! :) Otherwise, still love the books. Go team Dresden!

If you could sum up Changes: The Dresden Files, Book 12 in three words, what would they be?

    Fantasy. Exciting. Witty

What was one of the most memorable moments of Changes: The Dresden Files, Book 12?

I laughed out loud at the Lord of the Rings conversation. Well done!

What does James Marsters bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He IS Harry Dresden. He makes the characters come alive. Fantastic inflection and use of voices for other characters. Great pacing. Perfect delivery. Really, just fabulous.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    YES!!!

    Any additional comments?

Best book of the series. While you can absolutely just read the series from this book, I encourage you to start from book one! A great build on characters.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

Really Solid book. Written well. Moved along well. Lord of the Flies meets Star Trek. Although it's a childrens focus, it was entertaining, smart and had good details about creating a world - like Michael Crighton.
    Entertaining and worth reading.

With a career, a boyfriend, and a loving family, Piper Kerman barely resembles the reckless young woman who delivered a suitcase of drug money 10 years ago. But that past has caught up with her. Convicted and sentenced to 15 months at the infamous federal correctional facility in Danbury, Connecticut, the well-heeled Smith College alumna is now inmate #11187-424 - one of the millions of women who disappear "down the rabbit hole" of the American penal system.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Solid book. A little long and drawn out. At times I even thought I was reading the same page over again. like deja vu. Perhaps prision is like that. I thought it was a good read. An interesting story. Seemed honest. Should have been condensed

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting is hearing about women's expreience in jail. The groups and cliques. Like high school, only more Oz.
The ingenious nature of the women cooking and contraband items.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    No. too drawn out.

    Any additional comments?

It's an interesting book with an interesting perspective, but too drawn out.
