Miranda Cheever has been blessed with many things, but great beauty is not among them. Still, when she meets Viscount Tuner, she knows she is meant for him. As the years go by, fate is as kind to Miranda as it is harsh on the Viscount. He's skeptical about love with good reason - but he may be falling for Miranda

Teresa says: "Light and fun romance."
    "I love READING this book!"

I think it loses something in the audiobook (don't know if it's the narration, or it needs to be abridged or what) but this is one of my favorite Julia Quinn books. Will I listen to again? Probably...I love Julia Quinn's humor and her characters.

Be careful what you wish for. Traveling abroad with her mother at the turn of the 20th century to seek a titled husband, beautiful, vivacious Cora Cash, whose family mansion in Newport dwarfs the Vanderbilts’, suddenly finds herself Duchess of Wareham, married to Ivo, the most eligible bachelor in England. Nothing is quite as it seems, however: Ivo is withdrawn and secretive, and the English social scene is full of traps and betrayals.

Maria says: "I loved this book!"
    "Might be worst.book.ever"
    Overall

Good narrator, awful plot and it all suddenly comes together at the end like she didn't know how to end it. I think this was under the romance section and it shouldn't be, just should be fiction. Not a lot of romance or likability to any one character in this book, and a leading man with the name of IVO really?!??!

Annabelle is tired of being the lone failure in a family of overachievers. She's endured dead-end jobs and a broken engagement. But that's going to change now that she's taken over her late grandmother's matchmaking business. All Annabelle has to do is land the Windy City's hottest bachelor as her client, and she'll be the most sought-after matchmaker in town.

    Daniela says: "Guilty Pleasure"
    "LOVE! Will listen to again"

This is my favorite SEP book and with Anna Fields narrating, it's a HIT! I have listened to repeatedly and just love it. It makes laugh out loud. I never tire of this book. I think it would make a great TV series myself.

Ignoring her insistent best friend, some interfering do-gooders, and the ubiquitous dog Fred - not to mention her suddenly raging hormones - 40-year-old Nina thinks anyone but Alex would be a better bet for a relationship. But the more silver-haired stiffs she dates, the more she suspects it's the young dog-loving doctor she wants to sit and stay!

Bonnie says: "Jennifer Crusie knows how to have fun"
    "It was okay"
    Overall

I thought the narrator seemed VERY LOUD and overacted it a bit. I also found it VERY unrealistic that a basset hound/beagle mix can go up and down a fire escape (aren't they similar to ladders?). I did like her well developed characters and there are some great one liners in this book! Don't know if I would read another by this author. I am spoiled by Anna Fields and her fantastic narration of SEP books.
