This is my first and probably last time with this author. She tries too hard to be cute and clever.
I was hoping for an Elizabeth George type novel but this book felt 'overdone'. I literally skipped minutes and minutes and didn't miss anything important. I liked it enough to get through the book but felt cheated and the waste of time getting to the end. The Abridged Version would probably be better.
I'll just place this under my 'I dont think so' category.
There are too many good authors out there to try her again.
I hope this helps your decision.
Not only predictable, he must have bought this plot 'from scripts are us'. I have to force myself to listen to the whole thing and now have part of my life I cannot get back. Which at 52 I'd better be more selective.
To make matters worse, the announcer was the worst and I will not listen to any more of his books I don't care who writes it.
The guy have two voices; as a result you can't figure out which character is who and its a big mess.
I done with the author and his reader.
I just finished the new Vince Flynn listen and that is what I think is a 5 star rating.
Happy Listening and great holidays.
This book is not worth purchasing. The author spends too much time defending his position on 'how the right brain works' and the significance in the future.
I ordered this book because I want to improve my right brain function with exercises.
Betty Edwards "drawing on the right side of the brain" or "A Whack on the side of the Head" by Roger von Oech are much better in my opinion.
These books are more fun and engaging.
In summation A Whole New Mind is a re-hashing of much older and better books on the Right Brain.
I hope this helps your decision if you are in doubt.
After reading all of Lee Child's books you feel like you know the lead character. In this book, Jack Reacher is not the same person. I do not feel he would support a wartime deserter or even be sympathetic towards them.
The plot is overly complex and borders on boring.
Lee Child has become too smart for his own good. I am not a fan of an author placing their political views in a fiction book, especially when it would contradict the main character's psyche.
It may be time to bury Reacher and work on a new character.
