Fueled by the knowledge that notoriety is better than failure, witty, unconventional Josie does what no proper young lady should - she challenges fate. She discards her corset and flirts outrageously. She attends the horse races and allows an arrogant rakehell to whisk her behind the stables for a surreptitious kiss . . . and is caught!

What made the experience of listening to Pleasure for Pleasure the most enjoyable?

The narrator was idas for this series. She really brings you into the book.

What did you like best about this story?

This is the finale to my favorite series.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Mayne gives Josie her first kiss, and finds the kiss effected him so strongly that it surprised him. I also loved the part when Mayne was comparing is fiance to Josie and finds he preferred Josie more in every way, and then became jealous when other men paid Josie attention.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

A restless love finds it's perfect match.

    Any additional comments?

The first two books in this series are so valuable to this series, it would be wonderful if the entire series were in audio format. The first book in this series is one of my all time favorites, and I have literally read hundreds of romances. I believe they would be snapped up in a heartbeat.

Poor Lord Anselm! The dashing bachelor was forever plagued with dying relatives leaving their female children to his care. Indeed, he had squired so many a silly miss from schoolroom to marriage mart that he had sworn off women altogether.

This narrator is a new favorite of mine, that being said... Some books I read myself, and some I listen, and if the narration is not enjoyable, and the author, or description is intriguing, I will get the book, and read it on my own. I, quite reluctantly, continued to listen. I had a difficult time deciding wether the narration was bringing it down, or the story. I have come to the conclusion that neither the story nor the narrator could possibly improve one, or the other.

This book has all of the right components, for me:
    1. There must be humor
    2. There must be a makeover, i.e. Cinderella
    3. A strong, smart, much loved heroine
    4. A strong, yet at times, vulnerable hero
    5. It must make me cry, either happy tears, sad tears, or just loving the book and hating for the book to end.

This is the real thing! Just read it, you won't be disappointed!

I enjoyed the multiple love stories. I'm not sure about her not clearing up misconceptions immediately. I think most young, innocent women would not be so forgiving about confused with being a light skirt.

The narrator did a great job. She does excellent character voices.

Would you listen to The Devil's Love again? Why?

This book has been a favorite of mine for a very long time. I've been re-reading/re-listening to some of my favorites. This is one that has been on my mind for years, because I loved it, but couldn't recall the title. Much to my delight I am able to listen to it, which I can't thank the publishers enough for. Once I started listening I could not stop, and when I finished it, I immediately started it over.

What did you like best about this story?

This has all of the ingredients that make a romance perfect for me. I laughed and cried, and, could not put it down.

Have you listened to any of Anne Flosnikā€™s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I think Anne Flosnik is an excellent narrator. Sometimes she gets a little too excited during the love scenes, so I fast forward a bit. I hesitate to critique an animator when I think about what a difficult job it is to forget the narrator, and become immersed in the story, that makes a narrator, like Anne Flosnik a great narrator, in my opinion.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sometimes it takes courage to find a perfect love.

    Any additional comments?

I'm thrilled to have found this at Audible. I am a huge fan of this author, and I am hoping to find her other books here as well. For some authors it is their earlier books are their best. That isn't to say it is the case with Julia London, but I think of them as buried treasure, so please keep them coming.
