This was a wonderful book. I have not listened to any of Michael Connelly's books, so this one was my first. It was really great. Very enjoyable. The main character, "Harry Bosch" is a very lovable guy. If you liked the old movies that featured Humphrey Bogart, you'll love this one. The narrator sounds like old Bogie himself. So I could actually visualize him as Harry Bosch. There are some surprises in line for you as to 'who dunnit' if you choose to listen to this great story. This was quite a long story, but I didn't mind.I will now go back and purchase some more books by this author, especially the books about Detective Harry Bosch.
I'm sorry but, this one left alot to be desired, for me that is. I guess it would have been ok if I liked this sort of story. It fell in the category of old time ghost spoofs. But to me this one was not even believable. It tries to be humorous but, doesn't exactly make it. This book was full of dry humour.
It is on rare occassion that I find a book that can captivate my full attention. This one has done it. I love suspense thrillers. "The Girls He Adored" was very well written. The Author was very descriptive in details, but careful not to go overboard.
The Narrator: Lee Sellars was fantastic. You could actually feel and hear the change as he shifted from one character to another. He put a lot emphasis on his voices which made it a delight to listen to. Sometimes a bit comical which took the edge off. A chilling story that leaves you a little haunted by the ending. Overall it was very well written and the narrator was great.
