A James Bond-meets-Austin Powers spoof about the gadgetmaker for a crime-fighting organization run by women. Jane Spyrus likes nothing more than devising new inventions, but even she knows her shrink-wrap prophylactic constraints, spray-on truth serum, and her other...rather innovative creations won't help save her kidnapped neighbor from the evil Ensecksi family.

Really cute & funny story. Total farce. Jane develops weapons for female spies: tracking tampons, mini missiles that look like vibrators, truth serum perfume, etc. Her best friend goes missing while "wearing" one of the tracking tampons. Best friend's brother comes looking for her. Grandma is a retired spy. Evil villain developing a new mind control method who tests it out by making the locals wear yellow dresses and Hawaiian shirts. Jane and company track the missing friend and end up using all the silly weapons to rescue her. Fun, with lots of laugh out loud moments. And, of course, a happy ever after ending!

I love Amanda Ronconi's books! The are funny, cute, heart warming, east to read with a few sexy scenes to move the story along. Amanda Ronconi does an absolutely wonderful job narrating the books. This story is a cute & almost non-violent werewolf+human romance. It was pretty easy guessing who the bad guy was very early in the book, but this book is so charming it doesn't matter. The books will have you laughing out loud! Even my husband laughed!!! As soon as I finished this book, I immediately started on the next book in the series, where we continue with the characters from this book while adding new lead characters. I love it when the books in a series are tightly related like that.

Everything always seems to fall into place for 24-year-old Aubrey Jenson, except for when it comes to her luck with men. Bad boys always draw her in and crush her heart, and Black Falcon's lead guitarist, Riff, is no exception. After sharing a few wild nights together, she leaves him behind, knowing a guy like Riff isn't the relationship type. When she returns to New York, she tries to get the passion she felt in Riff's arms out of her head by dating Isaac, a successful representative at Center Stage Marketing. Just when she thinks she's forgotten Riff, she's forced to see him again.

Allen Steele is the worst choice for the male lead character. He sounds like a a grizzled 60-something cowboy, when he is supposed to be a 20-something "hot" rock star. I have no idea why they changed narrators from the first book, but it was a big mistake! Thanks goodness this was one of the buy the ebook, get the audio book for a reduced price. I read the book instead and deleted the audio. The story itself was good, not great, but good.

There's always one more grave to dig. Lately, life has been unnaturally calm for vampires Cat Crawfield and her husband, Bones. They should have known better than to relax their guard, because a shocking revelation sends them back into action to stop an all-out war…. A rogue CIA agent is involved in horrifying secret activities that threaten to raise tensions between humans and the undead to dangerous heights. Now Cat and Bones are in a race against time to save their friends from a fate worse than death…because the more secrets they unravel, the deadlier the consequences.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Not the audiobook. Yes for the book. The audio clip only includes Cat's voice. Was I surprised when Bones voice sounded like an old English grandmother instead of a sexy vampire. If he hadn't said "Kitten", I would not have even known that was supposed to be Bones speaking. I tried, I really tried to get used to it, but the Bones voice was destroying the book for me. I really don't understand why Bones voice was so bad, the other male characters voices were okay, but Bones's was like fingernails on a chalk board.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

As you expect from the Night Huntress books, the plots are action packed. They include everything: blood, guts, espionage, intrigue, back stabbing, evil characters and most of all great steamy scenes and a lot of humor. And this plot had some major cliff hangers!

Would you be willing to try another one of Tavia Gilbert’s performances?

Maybe. It would have to be recommended by a friend or I'd have to hear all the men's voices before buying.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I have loved all the Cat & Bones books and novellas and the rest of the Night Huntress World books. I am so sad to see the series ending. But I did like how Jeaniene Frost resolved everything. I hope she writes a book about Ian soon. As in all her books, you laugh & cry!

    Any additional comments?

Does the author have any say in the narration of their books? If so, I can't believe that Jeaniene Frost would approve Bones's voice in this book.

This was not my favorite book of the series. Maybe it was fatigue from listening to all the books in a row. But I loved the ending. I can't wait for the authors promised add-on short stories of all the Sinners weddings, honeymoons and first kids. I loved the interaction between the guys in the band and their significant others throughout the series. I loved the character of Trey, but parts of this story were just too much. I listened to these books while learning to like walking for exercise and I'll miss the Sinners. Can't wait for the Exodus End series.

For the last four years, good girl Lane has regretted breaking up with Noel Falcon. She thought she was sensible when she told him his dreams of being a rock star would get him nowhere, but now that he's a rock god and her career is stagnant, she realizes just how wrong she was. When Noel hires the marketing company where Lane is an intern, she's forced to see him again. If she wants to land her dream job as executive within the company, she has to win him over and secure his account. Too bad Noel is still pissed at her for breaking his heart.

Good, but not great. Might have liked it more if I hadn't read all the Sinners books by Olivia Cunning first. The Sinners books got me hooked on rocker romance books. Rock the Heart's story is good, but the ending kind of leaves you hanging. I hope Rock the Band completes the story better. To me it almost seems like one story was spread across two books. The narration was okay, with one thing that drove me crazy - she pronounces Noel as "Noelle" with the emphasis on the "el", not the "No" like the usual male version of the name. A good basic rocker romance, but the Sinners books are much better, more fully developed and more interesting characters. The Stage Dive books by Kylie Scott are also better, in my opinion. I'll continue with the series because it has potential. We'll see. ;-)

It's Christmas in Half-Moon Hollow and newly turned vampire Iris Scanlon-Calix wants to make Gigi's first visit home from college as normal and special as possible. It's taken months for Iris to work up the nerve to spend time around her baby sister after her vampire transition, so she enlists help from Jane Jameson and Company to keep her blood-thirst under control and assure Gigi's safety. Gigi, on the other hand, has problems of her own, including the demise of her relationship with high school sweetheart, Ben, and a looming job interview with Ophelia Lambert, the scariest potential employer in the Hollow.

Cute, fun, free for Audible.com members. If you like the Half Moon Hollow series, then you'll like this short story. All the characters are in it, helping Iris, Gigi & Cal celebrate their first Christmas after Iris became a vampire. All the usual comedic comments and snarking that we love are there. Amanda Ronconi does another wonderful job narrating the story. Short, sweet, "paranormal-lite" that we love and expect from Molly Harper and this series. Hopefully, the brief appearance of the "stalkery & kissy" vampire following Gigi is setting up the next Half Moon Hollow book. Ends with some holiday recipes for a turkey wrapped in a bacon sweater, canned green beans cooked with bacon & brown sugar and "white trash" candy.

Nola Leary would have been content to stay in Kilcairy, Ireland, healing villagers at her family’s clinic with a mix of magic and modern medicine. But a series of ill-timed omens and a deathbed promise to her grandmother have sent her on a quest to Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky, to secure her family’s magical potency for the next generation. Her supernatural task? To unearth four artifacts hidden by her grandfather before a rival magical family beats her to it. Complication One: The artifacts are lost somewhere in vampire Jane Jameson’s occult bookshop. Complication Two: Her new neighbor, Jed Trudeau, keeps turning up half-naked at the strangest times....

A great addition to the Half Moon Hollow series. Connected to the previous Half Moon Hollow and Jane Jameson books, but can also be enjoyed on it's own, you just won't get some of the jokes! As usual, Amanda Ronconi does a wonderful job telling the story. At first, Nola's accent if kind of off-putting, but it's explained in the beginning of the book so it makes sense. Loved all the characters, we get to know another side of Dick Cheney the vampire. The Half Moon Hollow books are snarky & funny and what I call "paranormal lite". Hope we hear more about Jed and his "arse-hugging jeans" and usually shirtless condition in future books. Charming read! Interesting twist at the end. Can't wait for the next in the series.
