Kingsolver at her best. She uses the warmth and depth of her characters to explore some of the difficult issues of our time. I love the way the main character is a woman in very poor, rural Appalachia... you experience the issues of the day from her point of view. It is a book that builds bridges in this divided time.
Delightful. Makes me want to go back and re-read the Kushiel series. Adventure, romance, a kick-ass female protagonist, and a deep connection to earth spirituality... Who could ask for more?
