Twenty years ago, Claire Maloney was the willful, pampered, tomboyish daughter of the town's most respected family, but that didn't stop her from befriending Roan Sullivan, a fierce, motherless boy who lived in a rusted-out trailer amid junked cars. No one in Dunderry, Georgia - least of all Claire's family - could understand the bond between these two mavericks. But Roan and Claire belonged together...until the dark afternoon when violence and terror overtook them, and Roan disappeared from Claire's life.

Would you listen to A Place to Call Home again? Why?

Yes, I would listen again to make sure that I didn't miss anything.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It is a toss up between Claire and Roan. I loved the letters that Roan wrote, I wasn't expecting that, it was sweet after such a quiet boy even though he never sent them. Claire growing up and how she looked after Roan was touching.

What does Kymberly Dakin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I listen to the books at work and while the narration wasn't bad it did take some getting used to in the beginning at parts but not enough to deter me from continuing.

    Any additional comments?

Because I listen at work it usually takes me a couple days to complete certain books. I actually haven't finished this one yet but am so impressed with this book that I wanted to write the review anyway.

Pirriwee Public's annual school Trivia Night has ended in a shocking riot. One parent is dead. The school principal is horrified. As police investigate what appears to have been a tragic accident, signs begin to indicate that this devastating death might have been cold-blooded murder. In this thought-provoking novel, number-one New York Times best-selling author Liane Moriarty deftly explores the reality of parenting and playground politics, ex-husbands and ex-wives, and fractured families.

Would you try another book from Marie Force and/or Kate Rudd?

I would try another of Marie Force depending on what it was. I have read a lot of her books already. I don't think having Kate Rudd narrate another book would be enjoyable for me so I will steer clear of those she narrates.

Has All You Need Is Love turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

What didn’t you like about Kate Rudd’s performance?

It seemed as if a lot of times when she was reading that it was monotone and trying to just get to the next sentence. Didn't get a sense of emotion from her reading. I cringed from the get go of the audio. I got to chapter 5 and had to quit. I couldn't endure anymore torture.

What character would you cut from All You Need Is Love?

Couldn't get through enough of the story to really rate the story and characters.

The narrator was easy to listen to and the story kept you moving along waiting to see what happened next. Had a few twists that I wasn't expecting. All in all, if you are a fan of the author or you haven't read her books before I definitely recommend this one!

"Of all of my novels, After the Night remains one of my personal favorites – and Faith Devlin and Gray Rouillard are two of my favorite characters. Faith is strong, proud, and fearless, and Gray – well, he’s just downright sexy. Faith’s search for the truth about the devastating scandal surrounding her mother and Gray’s father blazes with intrigue. Add some sultry Southern hear, and you’ve got a real scorcher of a listen." Slade McCafferty was a bachelor through and through - too busy raising hell to settle down. Case in point: fifteen years ago daredevil Slade had taken wild child Jamie Parsons’s innocence, and then had broken her heart. But Jamie is back in town, a lawyer, all confidence and polished professionalism. And seeing her again is setting off a tidal wave of emotions Slade thought he’d dammed up ages ago. Back then, as now, there’d been something about Jamie that made Slade ache for more. A hell of a lot more…

What could Lisa Jackson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

First time with this author. Thought in some spots maybe it would of been getting somewhere but sadly not. The ending seemed rushed.

How could the performance have been better?

Found the narrator aweful for my taste. I listen to audio at work and I really struggled to finish listening to it. Did not enjoy her switching from male to female voices and the kids voices was painful.

    Any additional comments?

Not sure if by reading the book myself if I would of liked it any better. Really not sure that I will chance another by this author.
