Murder In The Yoga Store is the true story of the brutal killing of a beautiful young woman at a chic Lululemon yoga-wear shop. The grisly murder was committed on a pleasant Friday night in upscale Bethesda, Maryland, a leafy suburb of Washington, D.C. In this riveting narrative by veteran journalist Peter Ross Range, the author for the first time brings together the tale of what really happened in the yoga store murder.

Before writing this I checked to see whether this narrator had done other books. I was astounded to find that he had. His rapid-fire bursts of 3-4 words at a time with no consideration given to the flow of the written word was extremely distracting. Emphasis was given to words within the bursts without thought of the meaning of the entire sentence being read. It was difficult to follow the storyline. The topic was interesting and the writing was okay--I think. I tuned out frequently in frustration. Even as a daily deal, the cost was excessive. Save your money.

One of Jane Austen's most popular novels. Arrogant, self-willed, and egotistical, Emma is her most unusual heroine.

As much as I love language and the narration of audiobooks, I must admit that there were almost more words than I could cope with. You could sum up the story with "and they lived happily ever after." Were the setting of the story a modern one, the story could be termed "chick lit", not my favorite. Even so, because the narrator did an excellent job of using various voices and expression, I enjoyed the listen. I will look forward to listening to work by Juliet Stevenson.

I grew up in a law enforcement family in Spokane (River City). The author's portrayal of the officers involved in his stories is very good. I enjoy the emphasis on the officers rather than the crime(s). The narrator is also very good -- when reading in English. His attempts at doing foreign accents are pathetic. There must be some way around this while keeping the same narrator--perhaps the nationality of the foreign characters could be told but no attempt made to do their dialogue in accents? At any rate, I will continue to buy and listen to the books about River City by this author because of his insight and portrayal of the human beings who are willing to protect and serve us.

Moving from Boston to remote Bearkill, Maine, isn't homicide cop Lizzie Snow's idea of a step up. But breaking away from tragedy and personal betrayal is at least a step in the right direction. Her dead sister's fate still torments her, as does her long-missing niece's disappearance. The town is full of people who see everything, say little, and know more than they'll share with an outsider.

I've always enjoyed the Sarah Graves books. As usual, this was well written. Interesting new characters, good plot and very good narration. I am careful about picking books narrated by females. Many use high-pitched, sugary, sweet voices and a rapid delivery. Some have a harsh voice and delivery. Many try to lower their voices when speaking for a male character. Kirsten Potter has a low voice, good cadence and good character definition. She doesn't try to do male voices. Her own voice is just fine. I'm looking forward to more books by this author and narrator.

Perhaps more thought could be given when picking a narrator. Fred Carver is not a high school sophomore with good diction. Please try to find someone more appropriate. A poorly chosen reader can ruin a potentially good listen.

To Dance with the White Dog is Terry Kay's stunning fourth novel, a moving story about an old man's final rite of passage, about family ties and the universal experience of grieving for a lost love. At the heart of the book is a mysterious white dog that appears after Sam Peek's beloved wife has died, and that remains with him until just before his own death. Stray dog or ghost dog? To Sam Peek, the dog is a guardian angel who brings to him the healing power of comfort.

Director and producer Jerry London Philip Vega is a man to die for. Janette Anderson was born in England, but now resides in Los Angeles as a US citizen. I'd like to be more positive in my review but this is truly a pale comparison to The Godfather. We just don't think the same way men do. The narration was equally pale in comparison. If you're looking for a "chick flick" version, you'll probably like it.

Happily retired in the village of Three Pines, Armand Gamache, former Chief Inspector of Homicide with the Sûreté du Québec, has found a peace he'd only imagined possible. On warm summer mornings he sits on a bench holding a small book, The Balm in Gilead, in his large hands. "There is a balm in Gilead," his neighbor Clara Morrow reads from the dust jacket, "to make the wounded whole." While Gamache doesn't talk about his wounds and his balm, Clara tells him about hers. Peter, her artist husband, has failed to come home. Failed to show up as promised on the first anniversary of their separation. She wants Gamache's help to find him. Having finally found sanctuary, Gamache feels a near revulsion at the thought of leaving Three Pines. "There’s power enough in Heaven," he finishes the quote as he contemplates the quiet village, "to cure a sin-sick soul." And then he gets up. And joins her.

Ralph Cosham's narration was perfect as always. I agree that he is the voice of the characters in the series. The story didn't measure up to the previous books for me. It went pretty far afield. If you've listened to the previous books, you have the advantage of knowing the characters and the village of Three Pines and the disadvantage of expecting something quite different and, in my opinion, much better. This is likely a one time listen for me. Too bad. I was looking forward to the release of the book.

This narrator did an excellent job portraying a truly loathsome individual. If the author's purpose was to make you despise the main character, he has succeeded admirably. I've made it through three and a half hours and I'm not sure I'll go further. Perhaps having grown up with relatives who were similarly nasty, mean, negative and hateful has colored my outlook. I don't need to reminded of the damage and destruction which this type person can inflict. On the positive side, listening to this book does remind me of the many kind and wonderful people there are.

With chapters on every woman who’s ever made it to the White House, Secret Lives of the First Ladies tackles all of the tough questions that other history books are afraid to ask: How many of these women owned slaves? Which ones were cheating on their husbands? And why was Eleanor Roosevelt serving hot dogs to the King and Queen of England? American history was never this much fun in school
