Eve's name has made a Christmas list, but it's not for being naughty or nice. It's for putting a serial killer behind bars. Now the escaped madman has her in his sights. With her husband, Roarke, at her side, Eve must stop the man from exacting his bloody vengeance - or die trying.

I am so addicted to having these friends/characters with me that I keep my iPod earphone in one ear at all times and whenever I take a break - like walking to get coffee at the other end of the office - I click on and listen for a few minutes.

Each book just gets better and better. I have recommended this series to everyone I know - im part because they need to know why I'm busy listening rather than chatting with THEM!!

I really hate it when the narrator wrecks a great story. I only have time to listen (while driving) rather than read and am intrigued by this story. Mr. Martin should demand a different narrator. I wanted the depth of the great novel (not just the HBO miniseries) and will likely not listen to the next in the series until the narration is improved. Davina Porter would be ever so much better at this.

At exactly 7:30 p.m., Walter Pettibone arrived home to over 100 friends and family shouting, "surprise!" It was his birthday. Although he had known about the planned event for weeks, the real surprise was yet to come. At 8:45 p.m., a woman with emerald eyes and red hair handed him a glass of champagne. One sip of birthday bubbly, and he was dead.

Peabody's voice is also not quite correct with this one.
So glad this wonderful series sustains good characters and interesting plot... and brings back the real Peabody voice (and McNabb) soon.

Dante had been courting his victim in cyberspace for weeks before meeting her in person. A few sips of wine and a few hours later, she was dead. The murder weapon: a rare, usually undetectable date-rape drug with a street value of a quarter million dollars.

So happy the real Peabody comes back in a couple of episodes down the line.

Eve Dallas is the tough lieutenant hot on his trail, but this is unlike any case she’s ever been assigned - or any killer she’s ever pursued. A police sketch based on eye-witness testimony reveals the killer has green skin, swollen red eyes, goblin ears, and a dislocated jaw-structure that defies the human form. Is it a mask? Is it make-up? Or is the explanation more sinister? Dallas faces off against multiple suspects - all of them students of medicine capable of precisely slicing the ears, noses, and eyes of the three victims.

Rachel Maddow's Drift argues that we've drifted away from America's original ideals and become a nation weirdly at peace with perpetual war, with all the financial and human costs that entails. Sensible yet provocative, dead serious yet seriously funny, Drift will reinvigorate a "loud and jangly" political debate about how, when, and where to apply America's strength and power - and who gets to make those decisions.

I started reading this and couldn't put it down...so I got the audible version. The information Ms. Maddow presents is so compelling I often had to pause, re-read or re-listen to digest the implications. As always, she brings clarity to a puzzling situation.
    Fabulous work.

This fourth novel featuring popular character Lord John Grey is told both from Lord Grey’s perspective and from that of Jamie Fraser, the star of the Outlander series.

Set in the intriguing Scotland of 200 years ago, the third installment in the romantic adventures of Jamie and Claire is as compelling as the first. Now that Claire knows Jamie survived the slaughter at Culloden, she is faced with the most difficult decision of her life. She aches to travel back through time again to find the love of her life, but, in order to do that, she must leave their daughter behind.

Davina Porter brings characters to life like no other and Gabaldon's characters are spectacular. I've read and listened to this several times and am about to launch it for one more delicious experience. DO read/listen to the whole series. Betcha can't read just once!
