Loved the family connection revealed in this book. All the Deborah Knott books have been a joy to read and to listen to C.J. Critt is one of my favorite narrators. Very strong reader with great range. I enjoyed reading all these books and even more listening to the series. The characters are all strong and interesting. The story has a strong line and a firm voice. The background of the carnival makes a unique and provocative story come to life.
Meryl Streep does a great job narrating this story. She makes the whole performance seem effortless.
the story was not the riveting story of the first the characters seem to have lost their color. the performance was bland and uninspired.
I love all the books Christine /Warren has written.
many, this one is spot on or perhaps stripe of the correct color.
Complex, intertwined, complusive
the story line and twists and turns to the finish.
yes, but time refused to stand still.
Loved this book. Chris Knopf has a one of a kind voice and an out there story to tell.
Another fun Deborah Knott mystery this one is set at the Furniture Market. Another interesting setting for another interesting story! Visit Deborah's court and then follow her thru the real mystery here. C. J. does a great job portraying the characters of this story!
Once again Deborah works thru the twisted skeins of the plot to get to the truth and make things come straight. A worthwhile read/listen. Mystery, intrigue and a bit of romance!
Deborah Knott is back with a hurricane in North Carolina and the murder of a prominent citizen. Deborah wages into the fray and comes out on the side of Justice.
With all the mystery of the south along with the intrigue of racial politics add up to make this a great read/listen. C.J. Critt does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life just the way that Margaret Maron wrote them.
Another in the Deborah Knott series. Long time favorite author only made better by a great narrator! This story has a wonderful background of mountains and pottery, family and lust, power and greed! All the ingredients required to make a great read... and a mystery.
Another story I found because Stefan Rudnicki was the reader. His voice makes me shiver. He could read a grocery list and I would be sold. Ok so it does have to be an interesting story to hold my attention. This one is fun and romantic paranormal story.
Makes me want to believe in the paranormal. Good read! Fun Story and great reader!
