Determined to live a dark life in the company of the assassin who freed her from bondage, Sarai sets out on her own to settle a score with an evil sadist. Unskilled and untrained in the art of killing, the events that unfold leave her hanging precariously on the edge of death when nothing goes as planned. Sarai's reckless choices send her on a path she knows she can never turn back from and so she presents Victor with an ultimatum: Help her become more like him and give her a fighting chance, or she'll do it alone no matter the consequences.

This is book 2 of In the Company of Killers, it was better than the first and #1 was very good. These characters are assassins and along with murder comes romance and intrigue.
The writing is wonderful, one of those stories that you can picture in your mind. The narration is good and will grow on you, I kind of like them now. #3 looks great and ready to download now!

After trying to help Benjamin Pearl, an undernourished, nearly feral 11-year-old boy living in the Montana wilderness, social worker Pete Snow comes face-to-face with the boy's profoundly disturbed father, Jeremiah. With courage and caution, Pete slowly earns a measure of trust from this paranoid survivalist itching for a final conflict that will signal the coming End Times. But as Pete's own family spins out of control, Pearl's activities spark the full-blown interest of the FBI, putting Pete at the center of a massive manhunt from which no one will emerge unscathed.

Sad but so good. A story of a guy who justs wants to help. He is haunted by his bad choices but the listener is rewarded by his good choices. Wonderful characters, their stories true to life, brought together by a beautifully, haunting narration. I loved it!

The story of a stalker and his victim. He seems very normal but he is a psychopath. This listen was just ok to me, the narration was good. This story is from the mind of the stalker, his psyche and why he does what he does. I've read and listened to a lot of murder/killer stories and this one just did not shock me. This story rationalized why the stalker did what he did and was unique to me from that perspective.

Part 2 of Miller and Olivia's story and it was wonderful. I love this author and narrator. It is not just a boy meets girl, fall in love and have sex story, there is darkness involved. This Man and One Night trilogies held my interest throughout, I just love them!

All Noelle Cunningham has ever wanted is a life beyond - beyond the walls of Eden, where only the righteous are allowed to remain, and beyond her stiflingly restrictive existence as a councilman's daughter. But only ruins lie outside the City, remnants of a society destroyed by solar storms decades earlier. The sectors surrounding Eden house the corrupt, the criminal-men like Jasper McCray, bootlegger and cage fighter.

I was more interested in why the world was the way it was and not many of my questions were answered. There was not much difference in the usual boy meets girl, romance and have sex stories already out there. I don't think I will continue on with the series, I suspect it is more of the same, just different characters.

Owning a strip club isn't the fantasy most guys expect it to be. With long hours, a staff with enough issues to keep a psych ward in business, and the police regularly on his case, twenty-nine-year-old Cain is starting to second guess his unspoken mission to save the women he employs. And then blond, brown-eyed Charlie Rourke walks through his door, and things get really complicated. Cain abides by a strict "no sleeping with the staff" rule. But being around Charlie challenges Cain's self-control…and it's been a long time since any woman has done that.

A blue-eyed innocent on the outside and a shark on the inside, dressmaker Sophy Noirot could sell sand to Bedouins. Selling Maison Noirot's beautiful designs to aristocratic ladies is a little harder, especially since a recent family scandal has made an enemy of one of society's fashion leaders. Turning scandal to the shop's advantage requires every iota of Sophy's skills, leaving her little patience for a big, reckless rake like the Earl of Longmore.

Great story, suspenseful and creepy with a little love and tenderness mixed in. The narrator was good, she didn't get a five because of her attempt at foreign accents, but otherwise she performed the story instead of just reading. I have yet to listen to a Greg Isles book that I have not loved!

Atlanta, 1974: It's Kate Murphy's first day on the job, and the Atlanta Police Department is seething after the murder of an officer. Before the day has barely begun, she already suspects she's not cut out to be a cop. Her male uniform is too big, she can't handle a gun, and she's rapidly learning that the APD is hardly a place that welcomes women. Worse still, in the ensuing manhunt she'll be partnered with Maggie Lawson, a cop with her own ax to grind.

Great story and great narrator....I almost skipped it because there were no Will Trent or Sara Linton, I am glad I didn't. This story had it all...mystery, sex, humor and sadness all in the male dominated police force of the early 70's....so, so good! I highly recommend all of Karin Slaughter's books but make sure and start from the beginning, her stories have BIG shock value and I have loved them all!
