This listen was just ok. This seems to be a series and this is the first I've listened to. The storyline is similar to others...a family of big hulking brothers and the women they rescue and then go to bed with. There are much better out there. The narrator did a good job.

Five years ago a night of forbidden passion between Remi and Julien, the heirs of two powerful and competitive horse-racing families, led to a feud that is threatening to ruin both farms. Now Remi must find Julien again - but when she does, her need for Julien is just as strong and just as forbidden....

Short story mainly for it's sex appeal. I love Reisz's Original Sinners Series so I will listen to anything she writes. This is nothing like The Original Sinners but was an ok listen, mainly about cheating in horseracing and two opposing families whose kids love each other. This could have been a good story if allowed to develop.

When Detective Regan Pescoli drives to Sheriff Dan Grayson's house to present her resignation, she's prepared for an argument. She's not expecting to find Grayson shot and bleeding out on the frozen ground. The assassination attempt leaves Grayson barely clinging to life and the entire police department of Grizzly Falls, Montana, in shock. Every lawman has enemies, but something about this shooting suggests more than a simple grudge.

    Story

I've read most Alvarez/Pescoli books and this is my first listen. The story was good with lots of mystery and suspense and an ending that surprised me. The narration took a little getting used to, this is not what I imagined Pescoli to sound like, but she did a great job differentiating the characters.

Elliott is the brother of Ansley who is married to a Mackenzie and I love the Mackenzie brothers. They are mentioned from time to time but this story is about Elliott overcoming his darkness with the help of his first love Julianna. The narrator is perfect for these stories, she does a wonderful job!

It happens whenever wolf shifter Roni Axton is near Marcus Fuller: a crackle of sexual awareness that's intoxicating...and deeply annoying. Marcus is a pack enforcer who oozes power, but Roni is lethal in her own right - nothing like the flirty females who flock around him. Even still, his possessive gaze makes one thing clear. Marcus has singled her out for seduction, and he wants to make her sit up and beg.

Two packs, lots of characters, hard to keep up. This listen was ok for me, the storyline was a bit different but the mating continues, this time it is Marcus and Rony. Jill Redfield does an amazing job trying to keep all the characters recognizable but it is becoming difficult to keep up with everyone. Sale buy only!

There is nothing sexier than the Russian accent and the narrator just didn't have it. The story was ok but the narration just killed it for me, I think this would have been a promising series with a better narrator, I can't continue on with this series.

"My name is Mike Ross and I'm a Ferryman - like in the Greek myth. I didn't ask for, or really want, the job, but I'm trying to make the best of it. Most ghosts are okay and just need a little help to get where they need to go. Unfortunately, there are lots of exceptions, like power-mad psychopaths, spirits still trying to fight battles long since lost, and the worst of the lot - the Skinwalkers. They live vicariously by possessing people and controlling them like puppet masters. Then they toss them aside when they've outlived their usefulness."

This was not the first of the series so I missed a lot and I could not make sense of many of the characters and their relevance so I gave up. I may finish one day if I am desperate!
