In the eye of a storm stands Bryn, the alpha of the Cedar Ridge werewolf pack. She is young. Female. Human. Physically weaker than any werewolf, she could never survive a battle with another Alpha, the strongest, fiercest, and canniest of his pack. Yet she cannot refuse a summons from the werewolf Senate. A rogue werewolf is attacking humans. The risk of exposure threatens to destroy pack life, and the center of the crisis is Cedar Ridge territory - her own lands.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Taken by Storm?

Evil can be outmaneuvered and defeated but at a high cost. This is the third book, so you become invested in the characters.

    Any additional comments?

Some characters are more memorable by the things they do not do. When inaction makes a friend not your friend, and your enemy stronger.

This is a battle against evil intent of monsters, though sometimes you get sidetracked by the fact they are sometimes human in appearance.

Is there a happily ever after if the cost of success is devastating? The needs of the many are greater than the needs of the few?

Atlanta would be a nice place to live, if it weren't for the magic. When the magic is up, rogue mages cast their spells and monsters appear, while guns refuse to fire and cars fail to start. But then technology returns, and the magic recedes as unpredictably as it arose, leaving all kinds of paranormal problems in its wake.

A human diplomat creates an interstellar incident when he kills an alien diplomat in a most unusual way. To avoid war, Earth's government must find an equally unusual object: A type of sheep ("The Android's Dream"), used in the alien race's coronation ceremony. To find the sheep, the government turns to Harry Creek, ex-cop, war hero and hacker extraordinaire.

Would you listen to The Android's Dream again? Why?

Yes, but it takes a long while to get over and ignore the he said, she said, they said writing style of the author. This is the third book I've listened to of John Scalzi (good books) and it's really really annoying to begin with - I know there's a lot of conversation and it's probably ok when you read it, but holy evolved lamb, there has to be a better way for audible.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Android's Dream?

Going to the mall. Description of alien eating habits.

Have you listened to any of Wil Wheaton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Wil has to be one of my favourite narrators.

    Any additional comments?

It's a light hearted sci-fi, but some gross implications for future science and the nature of mankind.

Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

Fans of Star Trek understand what a Redshirt is... Well imagine you are destined to be a redshirt, and know it...

This is a fun book for anyone who's watched star trek and galaxy quest. And the added bonus of it being read by Wil Wheaton - awesome selection for narrator.

I just embarrassed myself by catching the train and walking down the street giggling to myself. Yes, this book turned me into a crazy person... just not with the tin foil hat.

In this story, Dr Jay Allison has a split personality. One side is the cool, emotionless parasitoligist; the other is the free-spirited adventurer. The latter has been firmly held in control by the former for many years, but now it needs to be called forth to save the Terran colony on the planet Darkover. Will the experiment to separate and then rejoin the personalities succeed?

I'm a Marion Zimmer Bradley and Darkover fan = I own ALL the books. I'm disappointed that the narrators performance is so poor, eg a pause at the end of a paragraph would be good. It is not just one long paragraph with no pausing or change of tone. This is not one of the best of the Darkover stories but it still deserves a better performance.
