I am partial to Jewish Immigrants' stories so this seemed very interesting. There is no difference between which nationality/religion these immigrants came from. They are our past and that's why their stories are relevant, personal and entertaining.
Just the name of the town where the story occurs is enough to make you laugh!! Love the performance and all the characters, their humanity and Northern Irish customs!!
Loved the book but so many questions for the next book. I got annoyed that everything was left for the next book but I guess I'll have to wait :-)
I am going through a tough period in my life and this book has made me laugh out loudly and it's not a comedy. A delicious, down to earth country book. I'm not Irish and I loved it. Looking for the next one in the series!
I really loved this book!! It is about World War II mainly in France. I a daughter of Holocaust survivors so I am familiar with many of its books. But this one manages to tell a story from all different points of view! Some parts at the end we're very, very sad but I wouldn't miss it . This book will stay with me for a long time...
I love this quilt pleasant stories. Just what I need to spend some quiet, predictable but entertaining time. Wonderful delivery.
There is some mystery, history and romance. Nice combination. Can't wait to read the next one. I also love the improvements in the Audible app. Finally I can write a review without having to go to my computer.
For a while Grisham seemed to have lost his muse and the books seemed all repetitive. The last two books have exonerated Mr. Grisham. He is back to writing good, interesting books. I'll look forward to the next one!
Ken Follett's historical research is brilliant. It is the last book of a trilogy. It brings history to life. Very interesting and even though at times I got the families confused a bit, it did not detract from the whole story. Since I am getting old, it was very curious to read some parts of the history that I lived through personally. Loved it!!!
It can be read by itself or as the continuation of a woman's life in the early 1920s, trying to make an independent career. Charming and though not historic per SE, it shows life during those difficult times. We really came a long way... And it wasn't easy! Light, pleasant reading.
Make sure you read the first book before this one. Extremely pleasant. Family story, while at the same time a little romance but not silly. Nice sisters' relationship. Adopted sister totally integrated in new family. I hope the series continues. Loved it!
