I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!

Such a romantic story. I like how these two people came together with no intentions of actually being together, but the chemistry was so great that they just couldn't help it. I like how Alexa stayed true to her character from the very beginning. The characters are so real and believable. A good mix of hot sex and angst I really enjoyed the book and will continue with the series. The narrator did a great job and I will look for more books by her.

Joe Remke has just one qualification for his lovers: he wants them gone before sunrise, which makes his new bunkmate, AJ, about as safe as a woman can be around him. It also makes his determination to sleep with his boss downright stupid because if Brent ever gives in, he'll be looking for a new job.

Brent Anderson runs a farming operation. Brent and his crew travel from place to place completing specialty farming jobs. Things are getting a little cramped in the trailer since AJ Pender joined the crew. Actually, to tell the truth, the sexual tension was already pretty strong between Brent and his best friend, Joe, before AJ arrived, but now that the sexy siren has come aboard the sexual tension is downright painful.

Joe has been trying to get in Brent's pants for years. He constantly bates him but Brent has always refused his overt advances. Then the beautiful AJ joined their farming crew and all he can think of is having them both. However, Joe isn't interest in anything permanent. He's cool with having sex with his best friend and the new girl but he doesn't want a relationship.

AJ Pender didn't know what she was getting herself into when she joined Brent Anderson's crew. It's hard enough being a woman in a male dominated field but to have a crush on your gay boss and his boyfriend, well, that is just downright stupid on her part.

When the heat becomes too much for these three, passion ignites an insane blaze of sexual fire. But will their fierce connection be enough to keep them together or will their past doubts and intense hurts have them running for the nearest cover?

Carnal Compromise is a vivacious, hot-as-hell romance. If you're not careful these three will leave you with third degree burns from flipping the pages. I like all three characters but Joe is a standout because of his complex nature and his secrets. His secrets explain a lot about his attitude and behavior throughout Carnal Compromise. I would have liked to learn his secrets sooner so I wouldn't have felt the need to throw something at him so often. AJ is a fiery woman who has never known anything to be easy, and her relationship with Brent and Joe is no exception. AJ has serious self confidence issues and I love that it is addressed in a great way. I found Brent to be adorable. He knows what he wants but is afraid of what will happen when he gets it. Well, he definitely finds out! Carnal Compromise is sinfully delicious and hauntingly humorous. Robin L. Rotham walks all over hot button issues and delivers a Carnal Compromise you won't soon forget.

CJ Bloom was great with the delivery of the story. I would Audible to have more from this author.

This is a first time listen with this author will listen to the book again no will I try another book from the author probably yes. It was a decent listen I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. I listened to it word for word during the first 'episode' or book, but by the second book the time jumps back and forth were incredibly distracting, and Andrew's treatment of Aubrey was just too much that I found myself uncaring if they ended up together. A few things were never really explained or just assumed. The were some villains in the story and their out come was not explained. Also, I found the Fifty Shades (which I'm a fan of) similarities too off-putting: the use of emails in the middle of the book and Aubrey's blue outfits. This is just my opinion because a vast majority of listeners liked the book.

The narrators did a good job with the delivery of the story although I am not a fan of dual narrators and though it was unnecessary in this book

But Shay never suspected that her new pet is actually a trained police K-9 named Bogart—until Bogart’s even more gorgeous, human partner shows up on her doorstep.

Officer James Cannon is one tall, strong alpha male who’s convinced that Shay stole his dog. Hunky police officer with dog for a partner, who could want more??? well, throw in a damsel in distress and you have a great story.

This is a great story and a new to me Author, who I cannot wait to listen to more of. I liked the concept of building stories around officers and their K-9 partners. Now, there is a novella before this story that is not available on audible (but definitely will when it does), I did not feel like I missed anything by not listening to them in order.

I thought the mystery was well done and there were lots of suspects that I did not guess who some of the things were being done by. I really liked Shay and thought that even after getting the shaft for most of her life, she was strong and independent. I think James was exactly what Shay needed in her life, besides having a dog they both cared for, he has her back and believes her when almost everyone else does not see beyond her past. The ending was intense and kept me on the edge of my seat.

A great read and cannot wait for the next story!

    Story

A Love of Vengeance has everything that you could possibly ask for in a romantic suspense. The two main characters spent a lot of time romancing each other. And there was plenty of situations that kept you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what would happen. Gabriel Moretti is the rightful heir to the Moretti crime family but he walks away from it to attempt to lead a more reputable life. He even changes his last name. That doesn’t mean that Gabriel isn’t both feared and respected in the mafia world. One of the people that respects him the most is Russian crime boss Vasily Tarasov. Vasily asks Gabriel to protect his secret daughter Evangeline “Eva” Jacobs while Vasily heads off to Russia to hunt down the people that killed Eva’s mother. Unfortunately, Gabriel must also protect Eva from his vengeful brother Stefano who is the current head of the Moretti crime family and hates Gabriel.

Everything that affects these characters is rooted in their past. Vasily abandoned Eva and her mother so that they would not get caught up in the violence that comes with mafia life although it catches up with them anyway. Stefano wants to kill anything that Gabriel cares about because of a tragedy that affects Stefano’s fiancee’. And Eva loses her mother because of the sins of her father. In retrospect, it could be said that this is what happens when you try to escape fate. There are so many details that I just can’t give out because you have to experience the suspense for yourself. Needless to say, I couldn’t wait to finish the book.

To be fair, the romance did not disappoint. Gabriel is smitten with Eva the first time that he sees her photo. He knows that he shouldn't get involved with her but he can’t deny their attraction. The sex between them is explosive and Eva is taken to places that she has never gone before. Gabriel’s growing affection for Eva forces him to face all of the demons from his past and become the man that he needs to be.

Scott Schumaker was outstanding with the delivery of the story.

    Book 2.
After the first book, Long Hard Ride, it was a no brainer to just continue right over to this book. What a lovely treat because you get 2 awesome hot romances in this book.
I love that the characters carry over from book to book and in this story you get to read more about Big Cash Crow and Gemma. They were introduced in the first book and I love that warranted their own awesome story.
Gemma & Big Cash Crow are a bit of an older couple in the traditional sense. However that is the draw for me. I love that the author made an amazing romance for a couple in their late thirties and forties. It was just as hot as anything that I have read.

The next couple is another McKay brother, Carter and his story is how he falls in love with Macie (Big Cash Crow's daughter). I loved the family dynamics in this story. You have a daughter/father healing relationship as well as the rough and tumble of a western erotic romance. Both couples have two coming together stories and it was just an awesome read. I know they say you dont have to read the books in order but it is just better if you do. You will just appreciate the character growth if you do.

Rebecca Estrella was again amazing with the delivery of the story.
The books in the series are less than 10 bucks to buy so I am going to enjoy the whole series.

First of all this book was good not great. That being said I can think of other rock star books that are so much better.
I find it hard to believe a father would take his completely innocent daughter on tour with weed smoking man whores, really? I also find the main character Gage made my skin crawl he was nasty. I just cant figure a girl that innocent not being disgusted by his behavior. He basically cheats on his girlfriend in front of her. I would think that would be a complete turn-off. If you want to read a good rock star series read the "Sinners On Tour" series it's very good. Also this book leaves things hanging for another book, which I am getting so sick of. But I am interested enough to try the next book I think.

Veronica Meunch was Ok with the delivery of the story but voice sounded very nasaly at times. That put me off I wanted her to blow her nose.

    Story

Laura Kinsale just never ceases to amaze me. One minute I am reading witty slapstick, the next minute I am reading about an arrogant aristocrat's recovery from a stroke. And then there's "For My Lady's Heart" - a beautiful medieval ballad, telling the tale of 2 lost souls who find each other.
The story is a bit challenging in its length, with long descriptions and extensive forays into the depths of the characters' thoughts. But both hero and heroine are coming from such devastating childhoods, never feeling solace or safety, always fighting for survival. Their transformation is believable only because the author takes us through the evolution of their innermost thoughts and fears.

The language certainly does lend itself to the story, and the reader can't help but feel a part of the times. However - it hurt my brain, and I found myself slowed by the dialogue, having to struggle to translate what was being said, often having to use the context of what went before and what came after.
This is not one of Kinsale's lighter stories- in fact, it contains a fair amount of darkness and loss. Melanthe is a tough character to like- she just isn't very nice for most of the book. But she is a survivor, and this explains a lot of her behavior. All in all, it's a good listen.
Nicholas Boulton was outstanding with the delivery of the story

    Story

This book is a stand alone mystery/romance with an HEA.

This story begins with a mysterious man playing a treasure hunt "game". The person who instigated the hunt is a widowed alligator wrangler named Gillian. She has a sad past that is hinted at. Gillian is forced to find a treasure rumored to have been lost by one of her ancestors in the 1700's, off of a Canadian coast. Now we meet down on his luck captain-for-hire, Shane. Shane comes with some colorful characters who each play roles on the story, especially Jagger and Harley.

Gillian lets Shane know the truth about this mission. People she cares about are being threatened unless she gets the treasure within 30 days. Shane begins to be threatened as well and the 2 start out on the adventure. I had a hard time with the time line. Gillian, Shane and the boat are in the Florida Keys. They have to research where this alleged boat sunk, retrofit and update a boat and travel to Canada, not to mention finding a gold cross in the ocean.

The ease with which everything falls into place is the only thing I didn't buy. The romance and discussion into the respective tragic pasts was very moving. The quirky friends and even the "Demon dog" Tank, were quite funny. The easy ending did not mesh with the twisted game that began the story in the first place.
Although I felt there were some issues with the story @$7.34 it is a good book at a great price.
This book is for an adult audience due to mild sexual content.

I like Amy McFadden and she was good for most parts of the narration but she was bit over the top with some of her charaters.

I don't understand all the great reviews this book has received. It was almost a DNF because of the narration. I think if, Mindy Kennedy from the Cyborg books narrated this book it would have been so much better. The best thing about this book is the new concept it brings to science-fiction and fantasy. It was wonderful to have a different theme and idea presented. That said, there were several things that got very old very quickly.
The male narrator attempted to use a different voice for each character resulting in a similar sounding voice as Grover from Sesame Street and Kermit the Frog from the Muppets with even some characters sounding like Shaft from the 60s. The actual narration was so bland and monotone it was hard to listen to. The female narrator sounded like a boring librarian. Also, for some reason the producer added background noise to all 12+ hours of the book! 12+ hours of birds chirping, doors sliding, and space ship white noise got really old.

I would buy the next in the series if the narrators are changed.

Now, I know that a romance wouldn't be a romance if the H/h came together happily from the very beginning; however, I become most exhausted when it takes 97% of the book before the H finally accepts that his one true love is right in front of him. I must let you know that it was not the h in this book which failed to keep me happy, it was the H. And yes - it did take him 97% of the book to realise that he could trust the h and keep her. Whew - I was exhausted and irritated and not feeling fluffy and happy about this book.

The story begins where there is an evil creature killing everyone at the castle and village. The Fae send in warriors to kill the creature and make everything right. The H falls for the heroic h right from the beginning, but feels that she is the reason why the creature came about and THE reason it cannot die. Now - you have the siblings of the h who are selfish, mean, nasty, and downright cruel to the h for most of her life - including every time the good guys are there to witness. You have these same siblings doing mean things and ACTING guilty from the very start. You can't help but love the h. She is kind to everyone, beautiful, heroic in her own sense, and the only one who is willing to try and kill the creature - unlike her mean sister and brother. But....over and over again the H thinks it's something that the h is doing - or that she is controlling the creature - it is the h's fault as to why the creature won't die and that there is something bigger and more evil coming.

Even though the creature tries to kill her countless times, even though the h is with the good warriors most of the time, even though the Fae likes the h and tries to help the H along with his thoughts, what do we get................the H not believing the h is innocent in all of this? Even when she is kidnapped once again at the end, the stupid H still believes the h is to blame. I got so exhausted from his lack of brains, that I got irritated the story.

It just didn't do it for me. There wasn't enough passion or commons sense for me to be interested.

Antony Ferguson's narration was OK but a bit bland
