The book started out interestingly enough but soon devolved into a silly and irrelevant tale of weirdness. There is absolutely nothing here of interest to me... no great mystery, sci-fic, character development. Probably best suited for a teenager, but frankly, it's just stupid and a waste of time. The reader did a good job.
Everything, except for the very beginning. After that it became totally disjointed, stupid, grizzly and pointless. Pure junk.
He was excellent, but wasted talent on this book.
The stories were "smart" as contrasted with "interesting" or insightful, though some were better than others. It seemed like more of an intellectual exercise by a clever man rather than the kind of literature Barnes has written before, and the stories are tied together very loosely, if at all. Not close to his best work and not as good a style as his novels.
