As 35th in line for the throne, Lady Georgiana Rannoch may not be the most sophisticated young woman, but she knows her table manners. It's forks on the left, knives on the right - not in His Majesty's back….

In 1587, a fleet of English ships set sail for the Virginia colony. During a storm, one ship became separated from the others and was never seen again. The settlers on board were presumed lost at sea, but there is both historical and legendary evidence that the colonists actually founded the Roanoke colony.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! The story was based on historical fact, and the characters were so believable.

What did you like best about this story?

The way the narration draws you into the story with the multitude of characters. It really gave you a sense of what it would have been like to walk in the shoes of the early settlers.

Which character – as performed by Lesley Parkin – was your favorite?

All of the characters were so well performed, but I thought Audrey was my favorite.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The end of the story, so I don't want to give it away!

    Any additional comments?

This was a marvelous book in every way, especially the way the author took the facts and wove such a wonderful tale! The narration was brilliant, with so many character voices!

A heart-stopping crime thriller from the author of three consecutive No. 1 bestsellers, including Birthdays for the Dead and the DI Logan McRae series. He's back... Eight years ago, ‘The Inside Man' murdered four women and left three more in critical condition - all of them with their stomachs slit open and a plastic doll stitched inside. And then the killer just … disappeared. Ash Henderson was a Detective Inspector on the initial investigation, but a lot can change in eight years.

Would you consider the audio edition of A Song for the Dying to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the printed version. Why bother? The audio version is so great!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Song for the Dying?

So many memorable moments, it's hard to choose. Probably during the torture scene. Very gritty and difficult to read because it was so realistic.

Which character – as performed by Ian Hanmore – was your favorite?

I really liked Ash Henderson. A great cross between funny and gritty!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. It is one of the best murder mystery thrillers that I've read.

    Any additional comments?

Ian Hanmore did a fantastic job. He managed to pull off so many Scottish accents, both male and female. I really liked the understated narrative interspersed with the character voices. I'm a professional narrator myself, so I admire great work! :) I also liked the short sentence style used by Stuart MacBride. It made for easy listening in audible format. Well done on both the story and the narration. I would highly recommend this book!

Six years ago, investigator Sid Halley retired for good. He'd been harassed, beaten, shot, even lost a hand to his investigating business, and enough was enough. For the sake of his wife and new daughter he gave up that life of danger and uncertainty, and he thought nothing would ever lure him back into the game. He thought wrong. Sir Richard Stewart, chairman of the racing authority, begs Sid to investigate a series of dodgy races. Sid adamantly refuses, but the following day, Sir Richard is found dead under suspicious circumstances. And then a man with an Irish accent contacts Sid, telling him to deliver a whitewashed report about the suspected race-fixing...or else.

Jean says: "Sid Halley is back"

If you could sum up Dick Francis' Refusal in three words, what would they be?

    Entertaining, Great plot!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, I really enjoyed the entire story. There were good twists and turns.

What does Martin Jarvis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

As will all audiobooks, they are far more entertaining than just reading!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Dick Francis is resurrected with Felix!

    Any additional comments?

Will certainly listen to more! I hope Felix continues!

Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

What made the experience of listening to Sycamore Row the most enjoyable?

The narrator's performance was stunning! It's rare to be able to listen to a narration and not recognize that the same person is performing all of the voices. Brilliant!

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the fact that characters from "Time to Kill" were resurrected! The entire plot was fantastic! A real "page flipper"!

Have you listened to any of Michael Beck’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I will actively seek him out!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Both laughing and crying! Extraordinary!

    Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book and performance to everyone!

Katherine does a wonderful job capturing the different voices and the "Bertie Wooster" type humor. Her voices are different for each character and consistent throughout the book. I loved this, and downloaded two other books in the series!
    I highly recommend this book!
