This just might be the best book I've ever downloaded.
A sister dies and her sister works endlessly to find out why. The twists and turns are perfectly placed and perfectly timed. I fell in love with the characters, especially the mother. Their pain, their sorrow, their remembrances brought me to tears more than once, but it isn't just a downer...I laughed out loud a few times and might have even cheered once or twice! The story kept me completely engaged; I was on the edge of my seat by book's end.
The narration was fantastic. Fantastic.
I learned of this book through a review in the New York Times and was so glad to find it on audible.
I was hooked from the first sentence and couldn't stop listening until it was resolved. The pace, the narration and the story were all very good and appropriate. Highly recommend.
A straight line through the heart and the gut of a marriage. Nothing more in it than needs to be. And in its simplicity it packs a punch.
I can't imagine who would enjoy this book. It was too long, too unbelievable and too, too, too tedious.
The narration was tedious and droning as well as irritating.
Had this book been MUCH shorter with better, more believable, interesting narration this book could have been great. A hatchet should have been used to edit this book. It was way, way, way, way, way too long.
I wish I had my credit and my time back on this one. I kept hoping it would end. I didn't even care HOW it ended, I just wanted it to be over.
