When SEAL Team Six killed Osama bin Laden, they pulled a treasure trove of intelligence on planned attacks on U.S. soil. Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda's new leader, is activating his most trusted (and deadliest) terrorists to carry out his newest plot: to detonate a bomb inside one of the 64 commercial nuclear power plants in the U.S. in an attack 10 times worse than 9/11, causing radiological fallout that would kill hundreds of thousands of innocent Americans.

What did you love best about Full Assault Mode?

The story, the characters, the pace, the way my brain has to work to create the images described and sounds.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

    Yes

What does Ari Fliakos bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I can't read and drive. His character voices are not annoying. His narration voice is not annoying.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    No

    Any additional comments?

I wish chuck Norris was young enough to play Colt today. Today I would pick Mark Walbhurg or the guy from battle los angelas.

As A SEAL and combat medic, Mark served his country with valorous distinction for almost 25 years and survived some of the most dangerous combat actions imaginable. From the rigors of BUD/S training to the horrors of the battlefield, Battle Ready dramatically immerses the listener in the unique life of the elite warrior-medic who advances into combat with life-saving equipment in one hand and life-taking weapons in the other. It is also an uplifting human story that reveals how a young Hispanic American bootstrapped himself out of a life that promised a dead-end future by enlisting in the military.

    Story
What made the experience of listening to Battle Ready the most enjoyable?

The insight into how someone with PTSD functions as well as how their family handles it. The sacrifice that many make to fight for our country.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mark. He is open and telling his story in a way that only he can. His mother also is awesome.

What about Fred Berman’s performance did you like?

Fred did a great job. His voices are realistic and do not take away from the author's intent. Fred Berman made it a pleasure to listen.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes.

    Any additional comments?

My father has PTSD from Korea. He meets with veterans and helps them deal with their issues as well. I have a better understanding of how PTSD affets a person. Sometimes we civilians write people off as crazy instead of having a little compassion for our warriors as they deal with the lingering evils of war. I am changed because of this book. Thank you Mark, for writing it.The section about his sister going to a christian university and getting a call that she was seeing bible verses coming out of the walls or ceiling was very sad.
