Tasty, lethal, hallucinogenic, and medicinal - fruits have led nations into wars, fueled dictatorships, and even lured us into new worlds. Adam Leith Gollner weaves business, science, and travel into a riveting narrative about one of the earth's most desired foods.

As a fruit lover, I was disappointed by this audiobook. Perhaps it is better in the written word. When I came to the break between parts, I moaned out loud that there was still another half to go. There are so many facts crammed into this book that it seems almost overwhelming with the non-stop facts about fruits. I wish I had read the Amazon.com reviews before listening. Out of hundreds of audiobooks that I have listened to, this will be perhaps only the second that I simply cannot finish. I will come back to it later to give it another chance.

When Barbara Kingsolver and her family move from suburban Arizona to rural Appalachia, they take on a new challenge: to spend a year on a locally-produced diet, paying close attention to the provenance of all they consume. Animal, Vegetable, Miracle follows the family through the first year of their experiment.

This was one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to. I was so inspired by this book! If we could all follow this path, just think what our future would look like. This is also one of the rare times when the author is the BEST person to narrate. Thank you!

This first installment of a cozy mystery series transports listeners back to the bygone era of 1923 Britain, where unflappable flapper and fledgling journalist Daisy Dalrymple daringly embarks on her first writing assignment, and promptly stumbles across a corpse.

The only problem with Carola's books are that I just want to keep listening, wherever I am, until it's finished. Such a fun listen! Audible needs more of her books.

  • The Mystical Life of Jesus: An Uncommon Perspective on the Life of Christ

New discoveries in archaeology and recent bestsellers and movies such as The Da Vinci Code and The Passion of the Christ have sparked a renaissance of the many controversies that have remained unanswered in Christianity and other religions. At the heart of these controversies is Jesus. With a unique perspective only Sylvia Browne could bring, The Mystical Life of Jesus is filled with the details of Jesus' inspiring life.

    Overall

I loved the content of this book and will certainly continue purchasing and listening and/or reading Sylvia's books. However, I had a difficult time making it all the way through this one due to the narrator. Sylvia, please narrate your own books. Part of the message is lost when someone else narrates them. Also, I really did not care for the narrator's voice.
