My kind of fantasy fiction. Right up there with Horacio Hornblower. My budget doesn't allow for me to obtain them as fast as I would like. I will be doing at least one a month until I read them all or pass into the next realm of existence.
I enjoyed this book. Filled with ideas, feelings, emotions that sated my need for adventure and enough human strengths and weaknesses to make it belivible. Looking forward to next book.
How true this segue-way is. Mike Shepherd hits the nail on the head in a candid manner. Looking forward to the next assignment(s).
Continues to be fast paced with unique problem solutions and exhibiting the dedication that can be found in the human race when the pressure is on.
Continues to entertain with subtle innuendo. Plenty of good guys and bad guys and overcoming of multiple obstacles.
It has been years since I read this book (60+) and I had forgotten most of it. I did enjoy it. It definitely exhibits the political and male thought processes of the times.
This is the type of story I expect from Orson Scott Card. Magical fantasy, with a positive personal growth of the main character.
A perfect example of "butterfly effect" in our daily lives. Thought provoking in many ways. I will continue to watch for more Hugh Howey presentations.
Gets a little too graphic at times for my comfort level (thank goodness for FF). Overall series continues to be well written and satisfying.
Leaves you wanting to get the next book in the series. A little improbable at times, but, it is a SF adventure.
