I wasn't expecting this book to capture my attention the way it did but wow! This story was so good I found myself diving into the sequel. Yes, it is written for young adults and no I am not a young adult, well I was about twenty years ago, but that aside, this is one of the most original stories I've ever read or listened to and it kept me wanting more. I highly recommend this series to anyone who is looking for originality and an overall good read.

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr Caldwell calls her "our little genius". Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up. Melanie doesn't know why this makes Miss Justineau look sad.

A different twist on a zombie tale. An excellent narrator and an ending that unlike so many other books I've listened to, did spoil the rest of the story. I would recommend to any lover of zombie or apocalyptic themes. Not a child friendly book.

I’m pushing aside the memory of my nightmare, pushing aside thoughts of Alex, pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school, push, push, push, like Raven taught me to do. The old life is dead. But the old Lena is dead too. I buried her.I left her beyond a fence, behind a wall of smoke and flame. Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bests eller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

Teens control the fate of America in the fourth and final book in the New York Times best-selling Unwind dystology by Neal Shusterman. Proactive Citizenry, the company that created Cam from the parts of unwound teens, has a plan: to mass produce rewound teens like Cam for military purposes. And below the surface of that horror lies another shocking level of intrigue: Proactive Citizenry has been suppressing technology that could make unwinding completely unnecessary.

Starts a little slow but picks up wonderfully about two hours into the story. And what a thrill! This is one story that ties up everything, answers every question, and actually leaves the listener feeling full. I loved this series and will probably listen to all four books again.

From the bestselling author of The Double Bind, Skeletons at the Feast, and Secrets of Eden, comes a riveting and dramatic ghost story. In a dusty corner of a basement in a rambling Victorian house in northern New Hampshire, a door has long been sealed shut with 39 six-inch-long carriage bolts. The home's new owners are Chip and Emily Linton and their twin ten-year-old daughters.

I was expecting a horror story! This book is so boring that I found myself dozing off. The readers both male and female are dull and annoying. The storyline is choppy and has nothing to do with the title. Worst book I've listened to this year.

I am not a lover of romance novels but I am loving the Cousins O'dwyer series so I decided to try the three sister trilogy. Big mistake! I have no intentions of listening to parts two and three because part one was awful. The story was dull and cliche but worse than that was the reader. Listening to Sandra Burr read is like listening to a preschool teacher reading to a group of two year olds. I gave up on this series mainly because of her voice. I'm turning these back in for my credits. Too bad I can't get back the time I wasted listening to this awful book. I would probably still recommend Nora Roberts later novels for those who like romance but if Sandra Burr is the reader you might want to either skip that one or get the paperback.

It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't."

When I began listening to this book I braced myself for something along the lines of Goosebumps because the reader sounded like a twelve year old. I have actually enjoyed a few of the books out there that are written for teens so I wasn't put off by the youthful voice completely and decided to continue listening. I'm glad I did. The story reminded me a lot of the Unwind series which I really enjoyed. Yes I believe this series was written for teens and young adults but I would recommend it just as easily to my over the hill friends as I would to my teen aged niece.

First, I wouldn't have titled this book, The Secret Garden. In my opinion it was just a detail no smaller or greater than any other. I do get the connection that is revealed in the end but I would have still titled it differently. With that being said, I really like Kate Morton and I love Caroline Lee as the narrator however this was not my favorite. I loved the Secret Keeper! This one was full of detail and the characters were worth the invested time but the ending just wasn't all that it could have been.

I am about to listen to the House at Riverton and I hope that it has a better ending. I would definitely recommend Kate Morton's books to anyone who want to dive deep into the past and solve a riddle or two. In this, the author never fails to deliver.

Thanks to Connor, Lev, and Risa—and their high-profile revolt at Happy Jack Harvest Camp—people can no longer turn a blind eye to unwinding. Ridding society of troublesome teens while simultaneously providing much-needed tissues for transplant might be convenient, but its morality has finally been brought into question. However, unwinding has become big business, and there are powerful political and corporate interests that want to see it not only continue, but also expand.

Not quite as good as the first book but still very engrossing. Some new characters introduced and a new situation going on, some of which was good, some not so much. I'm not impressed with the fact that the author has given his three heros saint status and a holier than thou attitude but overall I still enjoyed the story.
