Ann, please vet your narrators in the future, or better yet-read your own books for Audible. Either this narrator is a hard core liberal and is purposefully undermining the book and ideas presented or she is not very worldly. Either way, she disparages your writing by regularly mispronouncing names, words and Islamic phrases. Her lack of attention to details takes away from your best efforts as an author. Otherwise, I am enjoying your book. I wish I had taken notes on the words that were mispronounced.
I love Allen West but he seems very full of himself and I just couldn't listen any more. Big fan, just couldn't get through the book.
The narrator is possibly the best fit for this story of any audible book that I have consumed. He really adds to the outlandish story. Please listen to and don't read this book. It is hilarious.
If you watch the news at all, this book is just plain repetitive. Also, if you read closely, there is no way that these stories can be sourced unless they ask the person involved to defame them self. Many stories have to be conjecture, thus undermining the author's story.
Just read it. If you are a patriotic American then you will enjoy this book. If you are a liberal, then it will expose you to the truth.
While Elizabeth McGovern is likely the weakest actress on the show, but she does a good job as narrator of this book. If you are a fan of the show and want to go just a bit deeper, then this is worth your time. It explains a few things that Americans might not understand.
Cheryl is a typical liberal. She changed her own name to the negative "Strayed." She "got an abortion and learned how to make dehydrated turkey jerky” all in the same sentence, thus, minimizing the value of life. She believes that women are oppressed even though she was safely able to make this journey and to attend college. I did not care for the woman but I appreciate her journey.
The scene where Cheryl and her brother euthanized the horse improperly thus making it suffer.
If anyone could use a kindle, it is Cheryl.
I do not consider myself good at language acquisition but Pimsleur changed my mind. I was able to learn the most important words and phrases quickly and retain them during a 3 month stay in Moscow for work. I plan to re-learn Spanish with Pimsleur and I think it will be fun and easy.
Rosetta Stone was not helpful for learning Russian and was a total waste of money.
I really like that the show is in close keeping with the book. The characters are real. The times were real. It was fun to be in Lark Rise and Candleford for many hours.
