Characters are memorable, likable and the story is unique. I enjoyed wondering what would happen next, and enjoyed the light romantic quality of the story. Avid sci-fi fantasy reader, I really enjoyed the book. It was able to bring the normal "earth" world into science fiction the way the much loved "Star Trek" always could. Definately worth the credit.

  • The Fiery Heart: Bloodlines, Book 4

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 4 mins)
    • By Richelle Mead
    • Narrated By Emily Shaffer, Alden Ford
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Sydney Sage is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets - and human lives. In the Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her...But the struggle isn't over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once.

"How oh HOW could you not retain the "real" Adrian"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

After listening to every book that came before, the voice in my head even when Reading the books was the voice of the last reader for Adrian . Now somehow the voice has switched, and not a minor switch, a Drastic one. Ugh, the new character doesn't even have an accent. So disappointed, ruined the whole end of the story for me. I gave the story 4 stars because the author deserves it, I wanted my rating to reflect the ruin, but the author does do a good job writing a story. Still... ruined. sigh.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

No life, no accent, no relation to the character we had come to love as illustrated in many books previously.

  • Bringing Stillness into Everyday Life

    • UNABRIDGED (1 hr and 33 mins)
    • By Eckhart Tolle
    • Narrated By Eckhart Tolle

The conditioning of the human mind is what is keeping human beings trapped in a never ending sense that they are never achieving fulfillment and happiness. This talk will help you recognize what is that which is defined as conditioning, and how it is affecting us – our happiness, or sense of peace, and our civilization and planet. We all have the ability to step out of this compulsive stream of thought, even if for a minute, to access the deepness of life that is vastly more interesting that the world of forms.

    "Great listen"

Having read previous books, I understood that his breaks help condition the mind to be patient and open to the stillness inbetween phrases. It's a training to experience the stillness, not try to fill it with thought or an urge to rush. Great book to relax to, almost a medetative trance sort of listen. I use his techniques to help cut off negetive self talk, judgements of others and that sort of distracting/perasive stress. I would, however, suggest listening to his a new earth first as it introduces you well to a new way of thinking and makes this book even more vaulable.

  • Stolen: Women of the Otherworld, Book 2

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 39 mins)
    • By Kelley Armstrong
    • Narrated By Nell Canning
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In Stolen, on a mission for her own elite pack, Elena Michaels is lured into the net of ruthless Internet billionaire Tyrone Winsloe, who has funded a bogus scientific investigation of the "other races" and their supernatural powers. Kidnapped and studied in his underground lab deep in the Maine woods, these paranormals - witches, vampires, shamans, werewolves - are then released and hunted to the death in a real-world video game.

Jay says: "great story...wrong choice for narrator"
    "Terrible, Terrible, Terrible Narrator."

I'm tempted to ask for a refund from audible the narrator is so bad. Aasne Vigesaa , the first book reader, was wonderful. She sounded the right age, young and edgy but sexy. What is up with picking a 50-60 year old sounding depressed, bitter edged harpy voice?? Terrible, manly and threw the whole thing off. How and why pick this person after you had someone Wonderful for the first book? So dissapointed, the interpretation and voice is what brings the book to life in an audiobook, what makes the characters believable.

If I were rating ONLY the narrator, it would have been the lowest star rating, half star or maybe none. BUT, I think the book may have been better with a better reader. I could only hope the author never chooses this reader again, and tries to pick someone who at least sounds like they belong in the same decade age span as her character.

  • The Da Vinci Code

    • By Dan Brown
    • Narrated By Paul Michael
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

While in Paris on business, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, a baffling cipher found near the body. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, sort through the bizarre riddle, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci, clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.

    Alexandra says: "Incredibly entertaining"
    "Relax and TRULY enjoy"

This is a MUST read/listen!! Having both read the book and listened to the audiobook, I HIGHLY reccomend listening to the story. This allows you to relax, close your eyes and truly become absorbed in the tale. I noticed that I picked up on more minute details this way. Enjoy,
