Yes, I like the MacBeth series. However Audible.com does not have all of them, so there are gaps in the continuity.
He is the best reader for this series.
Yes, but not as much as others.
The author did a good job of describing grief after losing a loved one.
Yes - Gone Girl. Performance was about the same, but better story.
I would pick the contractor. He seemed the best adjusted.
Maybe young reader who likes references to British royalty.
I didn't care about the characters and it took much too long to discover what the mystery was.
She far overdid the accents, particularly the aristocratic ones. They were annoying.
It was hard to be sympathetic to characters that sounded snooty and snobbish.
I might try another Jance book but definitely not one narrated by Brush. She made the male characters sound retarded.
I won't be eager to try another. It was very annoying to me that Joanna, a pregnant mother, put herself in dangerous circumstances so close to the baby's birth. She seemed to have no sense. Also she needed some backbone to deal with both mothers.
As I said above, she made the male characters sound retarded with a slow halting speech. Particularly annoying for Joanna's husband.
No, too annoying from the narrator.
Engagement of Hamish and Priscilla
Too many soap opera moments in this book. Also Hamish's anger at Priscilla is too strong and not that of an understanding man.
I don't think anything could have. I read a few chapters, and all the bragging about the wonderful coffee drinks got old fast. I couldn't get interested in the murder.
Yes, to all the coffee series. I wouldn't read another one.
This was very amateurish writing.
It was a little above average, but as usual has the most unlikely person as the murderer.
Hamish always is.
Please get the rest of the Hamish Macbeth books. I want to fill in the missing narratives.
I can't think of any. It takes forever to really start, and Rina whining about not being able to have children is very tiring as she already has three.
Not in the genre, but in this series.
The narrator did OK.
I was glad to see the main character had family values.
The detective's daughter was very annoying because she kept getting involved even when told not to. I guess it was supposed to be cute, but it wasn't.
The story was good, but the main recommendation for this reading is the excellent job that the narrator did. He changed voices, but not so that it sounded fake.
More clues so that the reader could figure it out.
