I loved that not only was this the story of her own life lessons but that it was imbedded with spiritual wisdom and practical life advice that I can apply to my own life's journey. I never tire of her teachings and appreciate learning some of her history to how she became such a powerful and wise woman.
I love that she narrates her own books - you can feel that every word she speaks is important.
This made me laugh because it touched on the reality of dealing with a child that just won't go to bed! Loved it.
I would recommend this book to anyone struggling with finding faith and/or trusting in their higher power during difficult times. It's like a therapy session or in my case a quick reminder or pep talk to keep my faith and know that everything will work out the way it's supposed to and not to give up and throw in the towel. Very helpful.
This was an easy and fun listen that appealed to my curiosity about "life" after death. I like Teresa and her show and really enjoyed her perspective and experience of being a medium.
YES. This is a book I could listen to over and over again because it's like watching dozens of movies all wrapped up into one. This could never get boring to me. Ralph Cosham's voice is so wonderful and his narration fantastic.
I did not know history could wow me this much. Each recounting of these historical events gave me at least one "WOW!". One of the coolest "reads" ever.
Crucial relationship knowledge.
I love Iyanla and I loved hearing her narrate her own book. She makes you feel like she's your best friend sitting beside you, holding your hand and loving you through your "stuff".
That relationships need to be recognized for what they are and that there is nothing wrong with a "meantime" relationship.
This woman speaks directly to my heart and I am always enlightened and profoundly changed by her work.
I liked learning about the prison/corrections system through the experience of Piper Kerman and what her time behind bars was like. I found the cast of characters very interesting and definitely humanized "inmates" for me.
Cassandra Campbell's voice, tone and intonation is IDENTICAL to the one of the actress that portrays her on the series. I had to actually google her to make sure it wasn't the same person. I really enjoyed that neat similarity!
I was quite surprised at how much I liked this book. Corey's story is not what I expected - it was tragic and heartfelt and interesting. I have a whole new respect for him and am reminded that we never really know someones story, no matter what we see or hear about them.
I downloaded this book when I heard my Pastor mention it in a sermon last year. I was going through the beginning stages of my separation/divorce and was experiencing tremendous grief, sadness and pain. This book really validated my feelings regarding the whirlwind of emotion I was experiencing and helped heal my heart and help me understand the journey through ANY kind of loss. I would recommend this book to anyone suffering from a loss in their life. This book offers comfort through Jerry Sittser's own personal experience as well as his belief in God and the bible as well as other spiritual teachings. Definitely instrumental in my own grieving process.
His voice and tone were very comforting and reassuring.
I cried quite a bit. This book really touched my heart... it helped me acknowledge my emotions, validate them, sit with them and move through them with peace and understanding.
