With a career, a boyfriend, and a loving family, Piper Kerman barely resembles the reckless young woman who delivered a suitcase of drug money 10 years ago. But that past has caught up with her. Convicted and sentenced to 15 months at the infamous federal correctional facility in Danbury, Connecticut, the well-heeled Smith College alumna is now inmate #11187-424 - one of the millions of women who disappear "down the rabbit hole" of the American penal system.

What made the experience of listening to Orange is the New Black the most enjoyable?

I liked the story told in first person like she did. I was hooked immediately and finished it in a couple settings. I liked her understanding of the characters. It was eye opening. Also made me mad at how the government operates. But, who is surprised at that.

What about Cassandra Campbell’s performance did you like?

I liked her as the reader and thought she did an excellent job

After working one of the worst mass killings in U.S. history, Scarpetta returns home to Cambridge, Massachusetts. Exhausted and ill, she's recovering at home when she receives an unsettling call. The body of a young woman has been discovered on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's rugby field. The victim, a graduate student named Gail Shipman, is oddly draped in ivory linen and posed in a way that is too deliberate to be the killer's first strike.

Would you try another book from Patricia Cornwell and/or Kate Reading?

I have liked this series but the last few I have read have not been written as well. Almost like there is a different author writing. This was just ok. I have either read or listened to about 4 in a row of her books. nothing stands out after reading them. I have to go back and look at the story line in a review to keep them apart. After finishing, it does not seem to hand together.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

let up some on Scarpetta. Tired of illness and depression and worry.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    The end.,

Do you think Dust needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

no, she needs to get on another vein.

A woman has vanished while digging a dinosaur bone bed in the remote wilderness of Canada. Somehow, the only evidence has made its way to the inbox of Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta, over 2,000 miles away, in Boston. She has no idea why. But as events unfold with alarming speed, Scarpetta begins to suspect that the paleontologist's disappearance is connected to a series of crimes - much closer to home: a gruesome murder, inexplicable tortures, and trace evidence from the last living creatures of the dinosaur age.

    G. House Sr. says: "A tedious disappointment - Don't Bother!"

Is there anything you would change about this book?

An OK book and story. I have loved this series but like some of the other reviews I am getting tired of the worry and woe is me. those who have read a few of the books already know the background of the characters. I know there must be some character development but enough! get to the story.

Would you be willing to try another book from Patricia Cornwell? Why or why not?

I will because it is quick and easy read or listen. This has been my least favorite so far. If more are like this, I may stop reading/listening. There are too many others out there that are better.

Have you listened to any of Kate Reading’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I can't remember who did the others I read. She was a bit boring.

Did The Bone Bed inspire you to do anything?

    absolutely not.

One of the greatest mystery thrillers ever written, Wilkie Collins's The Woman in White was a phenomenal best seller in the 1860s, achieving even greater success than works by Charles Dickens. Full of surprise, intrigue, and suspense, this vastly entertaining novel continues to enthrall audiences today.

Where does The Woman in White rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

saw this book on someone else' s must read list. I love period history so decided to read. I hated for it to end. I loved the characters and wanted more. Often I can guess the endings of a book but this one you don't see it coming. very well written.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared.....

I love this series but this one has been my least favorite. Enjoyable but not like the others. It did not need the explicit sex to make the story. I did not care for the reader who played Alex Cross. Sounded more Barry White ish. don't know if it was his voice or the way he portrayed Alex. Story was just ok.
