Best-selling author Iyanla Vanzant recounts the last decade of her life and the spiritual lessons learned—from the price of success during her meteoric rise as a TV celebrity on Oprah, the Iyanla TV show (produced by Barbara Walters), to the dissolution of her marriage and her daughter’s 15 months of illness and death on Christmas day. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Iyanla shares why everything we need to learn is reflected in our relationships and explains the strength and wisdom she has gained by supporting others.

Would you listen to Peace from Broken Pieces again? Why?

I would listen to this book again. Raw, real and so very informative, inspiring and motivating. I could identify with various facets of Ms. Vanzant's experiences through generations. This book allowed me to hear her story while identifying my own pathologies and planning on how to address them at the same time. My heart was simultaneously heavy and light for the duration of this book.

What about Iyanla Vanzant’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed the author's story telling abilities.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Pathologies - as related to the nonmedical, but rather the spirit and familial.
