I would say that it ranks in the mid- to high among others. The exploration of Dan's life and his relationship with the Evan and Jeff, as well as his grappling with the loss of Justin are poignant, sad and lovely. I'll probably listen to again
The slow build-up, it is a well written novel which presents an honest effort to show the main characters, especially Dan, trying to deal with life, love and loss. Had it been done faster, it would have weakened the author's effort.
Jeff (and Dan too of course)
No, not in the beginning and it is pretty long, but by the last third, I was very invested in the characters
Narrating female voices might not be the forte of PB Brooke, but do not let that dissuade you from a good story.
Such a well developed plot and characters! Whistling offers a whole spectrum of emotions that will keep you hooked until the end. The romance was so sweet & so beautifully written that I felt I was reminded of 30s and 40s movies. The extra characters were engaging and the narration perfect.
Fears of survival on every level. The story of Shackleton's voyage is a testament to human determination, optimism and chance. Wonderful narration- enjoy
Such wonderful poetry! This book is heartbreaking & gut-wrenching. I had more tears in my eyes frequently. Yet there is sheer beauty in its words @ stories. Not anything I'll forget any time soon. Enjoy
For the genius of Mozart, this lecture series was a wonderful introduction. I listened, learned, laughed, ached and cried. A wealth of information that will keep you entertained until the end - perhaps like myself, you'll start listening to everything Mozart again.
I have read this book and it was great. The audio version added another dimension to the banter and the story. Enjoy!
While I usually enjoy this author's work this definitely felt too rushed and yet also boring : story characters and narration were less than expected.
Wonderful book to have! To convey such emotional depth is something I honestly did not expect. The narrator was perfect
entertaining but repetitive
Although I liked the plot - I have a thing for professors - and Dreo, I did not like Nate. He was annoying to say the least. It was not because of who he is but how he was written as a character. He is written the same as the MCs in Matter of Time, Timing & even Old Loyalty, New Love. The person who Lord knows how is perfect in every way and he does not know it. All the men want him - or hang on his every word and all the women fawn over him. Nate is the perfect parent, neighbour, friend, lover, ex-lover, ex-husband, professor. Heck, he even gives advise on wine at the grocery store - why?
Can't think of one, although the joke of having students pass their assessments of another professor to him because Nate knows best was worth the head shake!
This book would have been much more enjoyable with its host of characters had Nate been toned down a bit. Sean Crisden did a great job.
It is rare that I dislike the MC and this time, I found Danny rather annoying in what could have been a nice story
No - although there is nothing wrong about a series similar to this plot
It might be the narration but it made the MC come out as a total selfish person sometimes. I have the book version which I started reading a while ago then stopped. I am not sure if it is worth revisiting after this. Too many other books to read.
Yes, yes & yes! Jace's story is wonderful and Kevin R Free narration of the Season's series is great
Jace - always
He gives a sound to the characters in my head.
Keep the tissues handy, they will be needed.
