At once a Gothic thriller, a passionate romance, and a cautionary tale about the dangers of science, Frankenstein tells the story of committed science student Victor Frankenstein. Obsessed with discovering "the cause of generation and life" and "bestowing animation upon lifeless matter", Frankenstein assembles a human being from stolen body parts. However, upon bringing it to life, he recoils in horror at the creature's hideousness.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus?

I found myself conflicted. I strongly disliked the monster because of his cruel nature. But I felt bad for him as well. I enjoyed the story from his point of view. A memorable moment was how his beloved "protectors" reacted to him.

What about Simon Vance’s performance did you like?

All around great! Did a good job of sounding different when portraying Dr. Frankenstein vs. the monster. Sounded very gruff as the monster. Which fit perfectly.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the a falsely accused girl is put to death. It signified how Dr. Frankenstein's world was spiraling out of control for me.

    Any additional comments?

I was hesitant to listen to this book. I thought I'd be bored. I like zombie and vampire stories to pass my time. However, this story is truly interesting! I enjoyed it to the point of being a little disappointed it had to end. This was nice change from my typical genre of books. I will be reading many more classics now!

When the H1N1 "Swine Flu" virus mutates it begins to not only kill those who have received the vaccination, but also bring on the unthinkable: the dead reanimate. Cole Helman and his friends are not only survival experts, they've spent hours discussing and preparing for just this event and quickly head to the hills before the cities become clogged with looting and riots.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Sure- if they were in a bit of a slump like me, and unable to find anything else to read.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It actually had a pretty good ending. Most zombie books do not have a real ending, but this book did a great job of wrapping things up.

What aspect of Marc Vietor’s performance would you have changed?

    Pretty good.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Sure

    Any additional comments?

This was not my favorite zombie story, but it was not the worse by far.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

    What disappointed you about 14?

This book took a major turn for the worse for me when they opened the door. There was a whole lot of build up, with a semi- ridiculous climax.

What do you think your next listen will be?

If only I knew. Maybe Game of Thrones

Would you listen to another book narrated by Ray Porter?

    Sure

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead.

Would you listen to The Walking Dead: Rise of The Governor again? Why?

Definitely! There was so much going on throughout the entire story. I will definitely be listening to this again.

What did you like best about this story?

The surprises. I thought I pretty much knew what was going to be the outcome of this book. I was completely wrong!!!

What about Fred Berman’s performance did you like?

Narrator was excellent. He did a really great job with the volatile Phillip.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Anger, so many characters infuriated me in this story.... Other characters made me feel so sad! This is a well written book! Can't wait to read part 2.

    Any additional comments?

I put off reading this book, because I watch the show. I didn't want to waste a credit if they were exactly the same. But the book is so much better than the show. (as usual)

At last, one of the world’s greatest works of science fiction is available - just as author Stanislaw Lem intended it. To mark the 50th anniversary of the publication of Solaris, Audible, in cooperation with the Lem Estate, has commissioned a brand-new translation - complete for the first time, and the first ever directly from the original Polish to English. Beautifully narrated by Alessandro Juliani (Battlestar Galactica), Lem’s provocative novel comes alive for a new generation.

Would you try another book from Stanislaw Lem and Bill Johnston (translator) and/or Alessandro Juliani?

    No way...

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Narration was great. Story was not for me.

What character would you cut from Solaris?

I committed an hour and 45 minutes to this boring book, and I can't name one character.

    Any additional comments?

Maybe it gets better if you hear the whole book. I gave it almost two hours. But I'm done wasting my time. This book is not for me.

This is one of those rare occasions, where the movie is better than the book. I was quite bored with this book many times. I think this book would have greatly benefited from a companion for the main character throughout the entire story. This book was all about the main character's madness/loneliness and he just came off creepy and weird. Not likeable at all. I have read this book and listened to the audio. I thought the book was ok when I read it, and I think the narrator's portrayal did not help. .

Heading off for a weekend in Las Vegas with her friends, Jessie Ralle has only one worry: how to make it through the road trip in the same car as her ex, Jimmy Kelter. The guy she hasn’t come close to getting over since he broke up with her five months ago. The guy who’s finally ready to tell her why he did it, because now he wants her back. What made the experience of listening to Witch World the most enjoyable?

    The story was very imaginative.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Witch World?

Understanding how the real world and witch world interact.

What about Justine Eyre’s performance did you like?

She kind of got on my nerves a bit acutually. Especially her voice for the main characters best friend, Alex.

    Any additional comments?

I want more Christopher Pike audiobooks on here. This book definitely finishes with a lot of loose ends. I definitely hope he was foreshadowing a 2nd book.

The name of this book really threw me off.....It took me a while to actually purchase it, becuase I thought it would be a dumb story. But it is as good of a zombie story as most others out there, in my opinion, better than most. Do not let the name of this book deter you as long as it did me.
