I loved this book. The story was compelling, exciting, even spiritual, and very thought promoting. The only complaint I had is that it mentions private body parts - somewhat scientifically, but with my little kids listening in, it made me just slightly uncomfortable a couple times. I didn't think it was necessary to the story either, so why include it? But, I can't argue with CS Lewis. He wrote a great story and I can't wait to start on the sequel!
Being on the other planet, and feeling the calmness of the creatures, and the simplicity and purity of their motives. Also, when Ransom meets the hross creature for the first time, the way they look at each other and communicate is wonderful and completely believable.
Great voice, accent, feeling.
It inspired me to do more with my creative self.
It's analysis really, not story. I like all the different scenarios, the different ways we can be successful.
Yes and no. Yes, because it is very interesting, but no, because it makes me think, and I have to take a little time to digest the ideas, think how I could put them into practice, and then try listening to a little more. Like eating a good steak, it's great but you don't want to just wolf it down all at once.
I never read the print version.
Betty plays herself.
No I have not. This was the first one.
Amazing Adventures of Life, and Possibly the Beauty of What Lies Ahead.
The narrators are great, very believable, and the story is great. It made me not want to stop listening till it was over!
Cinder of course, because it's by the same author. Yet it's entirely different than the first book. Exciting story!
Wow- they all were good. But I think I like Cinder the best.
Not really. It's just a fun story. I'm glad it's not real life!
This narrator had such an annoying voice I couldn't finish listening to it! If it had a more calm female voice, perhaps younger sounding, it might have been better. What a shame for a wonderful story!
If the woman narrating hadn't sounded like an annoying, loud, high-pitched mother but more like a calm, young, in-control daughter, it might have been a better performance.
yes. It's fresh and new, but still a familiar story
Cinder sees herself on the hologram and sees her own capabilities. It makes me think of each of us as part of the human race, finding out new things we can do that are already right inside of us.
no, but she did this one so well I'd listen to any of her other stories.
