I bought this one and Toil and Trouble, so I'm hoping I enjoy it more. Fingers crossed.
New author, for me.
I enjoyed the narrators voice when doing female voices, but the male voices were lacking for me.
There are parts that are frustrating. Like the back and forth with this story's love interest. It just goes on and on. I still really enjoyed the book. I really get into the other story lines and even though they aren't always wrapped up at the end. They are the reason I must read/listen to the next one. The narrator is very good and plays a big part in how much I enjoy these books.
This is a book that not only held my interest, but I so enjoyed it. However, there was a minor storyline that I just kind of rolled my eyes at. It was just too over the top for me. Having said that, it's definitely worth a credit, for me.
I love that it's over 10 hours, it lets the story have so much more depth. More story lines that I definitely enjoyed. There is still some of the entire book world that needs to be uncovered and resected, so if you're looking for all questions from book one to be answered here, you will be disappointed, but since I know now I will be reading all of the series, I can wait. I do like that the main storyline in each book is resolved, at the close of the book, the other questions I have, I'll have to wait until one, or all of the series reveals them.
Fills in all the bubbles for a good romance novel. It's pretty fantastical, but who doesn't want some of that in a romance novel. I will definitely read the rest of the series, but more likely on an ereader.
I forgot how much I enjoyed The Line. There are many characters that have complex stories individually and together. It kept my attention at all times. It's well written, compelling the narration was fantastic. At first, I was somewhat disappointed that I couldn't see a window to add more books, then (***SPOILERS***) I remembered the baby and Peter being Fae is dangling out in the universe waiting to be explored. YAY! I enjoyed that it wasn't all rainbows and sunshine. There's some darkness to it that digs in and plays with your emotions more than some books in this genre.
This series, plus the Nice Girls couldn't be more fun. I've never enjoyed a writer/narrator team more. Simply perfect. The books are all fun, sexy, laugh out loud funny. When I'm done listening to my two books paid for with credits each month, I put these on just to enjoy the storytelling and to return for more Half Moon Hollow. The characters feel like friends. The type of friends that if you don't have, you definitely want.
I enjoy just about all books in this genre, but for many different reasons. Sure, this one is sexy, but they all are, hence paranormal romance. I like this one 1) I absolutely love series books. I like to get to know each character. 2) I like that this first book feels like you've only barely scratched the surface of the possibilities, in this world. Leaving me wanting to read/listen on and on.
Such an original story told by a great narrator. There seems to be layers upon layers and, I know I haven't caught everything. I only keep the books that I know I will read again, maybe for pleasure, or to discover more from the stories I already enjoyed the first time. Charley is a smart, loyal, hilarious character, but then add her "family" of misfits and I'm all in.
I LOVE this series. Each book is so funny. The author and narrator are my absolute favorite pair, so far. I didn't think I would find a series to top the Sookie Stackhouse books, but this one did. The only negative is that I wish there more books, in the series.
I liked that even though it was a little predictable, at times there still were parts that I didn't see coming. Also there was always something happening with at least one character during the slower moving stories.
I really enjoy her narrative voice, her female characters too, but the male voices are so deep and slow kind of make them sound villain like.
Yes, and do
She's one of my favs. She has a great range with different voices.
