The plot was ok but the writing was sophomoric at best and narration was horrible. So disappointed in this product that had Linda Howard's name on it.
I am not into the DBSM thing but I enjoyed this book anyway due to the intensity that Kresley Cole is able to develop between here main characters.
I like Rachel Gibson's writing style and have listened to all her audiobooks. I enjoyed this book. The story was cute, simple and true to style. It was not special nor one of her best and the ending was abrupt.
Interesting world and technology. The male lead is a total creeper one minute (obsessively controlling) and then completely solicitous the next (cooking and cleaning). It was ok and maybe I will pick up the next two, there is not all that much out there in alien romance fiction. More sophisticated/serious than Johanna Lindsey's Deep space/ Ly-san-ter series and certainly less misogynistic than Laurann Dohner's Zorn or Cyborg. I don't ever see myself re-listening to this.
I bought it due to the strength of the rating but was blown away. I was hesitant because i am no biker chick and never had the slightest inclination in that direction. That's what is great about a novel you get to suspend reality and Joanna Wylde made me totally forget myself because I was panting after Horse. This book was intriguing, slightly troubling (morality, social dynamics), and HOT. I listened to this just a few weeks ago and have already considered re-listening, checked on her next release date and website. Even if this is not your typical brand of alpha male consider giving it a listen, definitely worth the credit.
Its light. Its fun. It is not thought provoking, or emotionally challenging. It took a minute to get out of the Sookie Stackhouse frame of mind due to the narrator but after I got into it it was ok. It was a nice setup novel, just a hint of romance but the setup for a angsty love triangle is created. The story was amusing but not as funny as a Molly Harper or Janet Evanovich. It was "magical" but not overwhelmingly or complicatedly so, more contemporary than urban fantasy, she's not building a whole new world. I give three stars because it was good but it wasn't epic or a reread.
