The darling daughter of a champion Thoroughbred breeder, Camille "Cami" Hines has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses. Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was happy with her boyfriend, her life, and her future - until she met Patrick Henley.

"Trick" blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her - and he just happens to be so sexy she can’t keep her hands off him.

    Story

Not knowing at the time of purchase, this book is about early 20 year olds still in and just out of college. The summary explains the plot pretty well. Patrick goes to work for Cami's dad who is a horse breeder and the romance begins. The story flowed so even though the characters were a little young for me, I tended to forget that and got involved in the story, which is a good thing. Although Cami was likable and her narrator, Amy McFadden, did an ok job...sorta...maybe not, it was Trick's character and his narrator that saved the book and lets face it, it is all about the guy/hero in romantic books. Trick was witty and had a great personality and the narrator, Nic Podehl, did a fantastic job bringing him to life and reading his part. Could use some work with his female voice but that was easy overlook as well. I would definitely get another book by M. Leighton.

Life sucks. And, as soon as Sidney picks up the pieces something always knocks her back onto her butt. It's never pretty, but this time is different. This time pretty isn't even the right word. Peter is the personification of perfection. It's like he fell off his angel perch in purgatory, because let's face it - any guy that hot has got to be naughty. He was probably sent here to ruin her life. Peter is beyond beautiful with his sexy blue eyes, dark hair, and toned body. Add in his charming wit and Peter is everything Sidney ever wanted in a man, but when things get hot and heavy Peter shows her the door.

I stopped when the female character disclosed her damaged soul and then the male character said "well, I might as well tell you I'm damaged, too and I don't think I'll be undamaged anytime soon but we can still have sex." Just ridiculous. I couldn't continue.

I have listened to all of Robyn Carr's Virgin River series and those were awesome. Everyone of them! But this series is just plain old boring. I'm not looking for a bunch of torchered souls but it would be nice to have some twists and turns. Maybe even a little chuckle. Just something. I kept hoping but nothing really exciting happens. Need to rename it "Pleasant Valley" because everyone is pleasant. I think I am done with this group. Sorry Ms. Carr. Still love ya, tho.
    Therese Plummer is awesome, however.

Book 4 and still really good. It jumps ahead a few years which is good so Hannah is a little older now. It's also fun to see where all the previous characters ended up ( but I miss them) Chloe Lynn did a good job as narrator because who doesn't like the accent, right? I would have liked her better if she had been able to differentiate her male and female voice because 1. it's hard to get into a dude when he sounds like a girl and 2. I had to stop and rewind several times to clue into who was talking at times. But still, worth the credit for sure.

Now the men in her life are far more interested in keeping her daddy happy than showing her a good time. Then she meets a handsome stranger - a man who isn't afraid to treat her like a real woman. One who isn't afraid of her father. His name is Liam, and he's The One. Or so she thinks.

I really liked this one. It takes up right where book 2 left off so I had to jog my memory a bit to understand what was going on. I liked book 1, book 2 was just ok for me but book 3 was really good.
As always, for me, it's success has a great deal to do with the narration, more specifically, the male character and Todd Haberkorn did the best job with Liam/Hunter. I'm still laughing at some of the stuff he says and does. He had me laughing with some of his sarcasm.
I thought some parts were a little disconnected in the evolution of the relationship between Em and Liam but it didn't ruin the story for me.
I gave it five stars because it held my interest the whole way through and I thought the dialogue was pretty realistic (not that I have a clue about what goes on in a motorcycle club) and, of course, Todd's narration. Also, because lately, some of the books out now are so dramatic and so corny that I have a hard time finishing them. I was thrilled to actually enjoy one to the end.

The good news is that there isnt all that ridiculous over the top damaged soul drama. The bad news is there is very little drama at all. Just not very deep and kind of boring. If it werent for r.c. bray and his great narration it might have been too boring. If all you are looking for is a romance novel then this might be for you. Just didnt keep me tied to my ear buds. At times I forgot I was wearing them.
