Harry Hole, drunkard, loner and brilliant detective is reassigned to surveillance after a high profile mistake. He’s bored by his new job until a report of a rare and unusual gun being fired sparks his interest because of its possible links to Neo Nazi activity. Then a former soldier is found with his throat cut. Next Harry’s former partner is murdered. Why had she been trying to reach Harry on the night her head was smashed in?

Harry is out of his depth. Detective Harry Hole is meant to keep out of trouble. A young Norwegian girl taking a gap year in Sydney has been murdered, and Harry has been sent to Australia to assist in any way he can. He's not supposed to get too involved. When the team unearths a string of unsolved murders and disappearances, nothing will stop Harry from finding out the truth. The hunt for a serial killer is on, but the murderer will talk only to Harry. He might just be the next victim.

Charles Atkinson says: "Probably the best of this remarkable series."

This guy nailed it first time.Where did this come from!. Is Australia so isolated from modern
writers that we dont see them as they appear.Jo Nesbo is on my list to read from now on.
The story was great, the narration was excellent.why have we not seen him before this?.
I hope that we are going to hear more of writers from his neck of the woods and not have
only the old marketable writers that we are bombarded with year after year.

Hearts in Atlantis is composed of five interconnected, sequential narratives, set in the years from 1960 to 1999. Each story is deeply rooted in the sixties, and each is haunted by the Vietnam War.

    I read (listened} to hearts 10 years ago I loved part 1and 3
but was a little put off by the middle. However, overall it was a pleasure.
It does provoke a certain sadness for the main character,Bobby.
If you want to go back in time to your own youth,be prepared for
the journey. The music is great!

When you're as big and rough as Jack Reacher - and you have a badly-set, freshly-busted nose patched with silver duct tape - it isn't easy to hitch a ride. But Reacher has some unfinished business in Virginia, so he doesn't quit. And at last, he's picked up by three strangers - two men and a woman. But within minutes it becomes clear they're all lying about everything - and then they run into a police roadblock on the highway. There has been an incident, and the cops are looking for the bad guys....
