In her sensational Breathless Trilogy, New York Times best-selling author Maya Banks tested the boundaries of desire. In her new trilogy, there’s only one thing left to do: cross them. Now, the story continues as one woman, haunted by the shadows of the past, explores the possibilities of a new beginning in ways she never could have imagined.…

The story itself is okay, I wish I had actually read this one instead of listening to it. It isn't my favorite Maya Banks, The characters are TOO damaged to let the story really heat up.

The real deal breaker though was the narration. Kylie is sooooo whiney I spent a good deal of time gritting my teeth thru her portions, And her man's tones, sounds a little like......well.....Forrest Gump. My internal loop kept playing "Run Forrest Run" and Stewie's "Mom Mom Mom Mommy Mommy Mommy." which made it a little tough to get into the parts that actually were hot.

Gigi is no longer an innocent teen. All grown up and looking for love, her family and friends worry she'll go for the sexy, alluring vampire instead of a nice, safe human. But sexy and alluring, with a penchant for biting, could be just what Gigi wants...

I love almost everything Harper has written, until now. The story line was so predictable I had the ending wrapped up by the end of the first hour. The characters I loved so much from Half Moon Hollow made cursory appearances at best...save one. I just wasn't a huge fan of this. I was very excited to the Half Moon Hollow and now....just disappointed.

Harper still has biting wit and packs a mean sarcasm punch, but other then that I found very little about this one entertaining.

After Jack the Ripper and before Son of Sam there was only one name their equal in terror: the deadly, elusive, and mysterious Zodiac. Beginning in 1968 the hooded mass murderer terrified the city of San Francisco and the Bay Area with a string of brutal killings. A sexual sadist, his pleasure was torture and murder.

Assumes facts not in evidence. I managed to get about halfway thru the first portion and just couldn't take it anymore. Considering this book is about a serial killer that was never caught, I find it hard to believe that this author could know what the killer was thinking or which way he turned on a street.

He also has a tendency to over explain things which gives a feeling of being talked down to. In one part he describes someone being shot in the head buy listing the consecutive actions of a pistol after it is fired.

It was in turn tedious and incredulous in it's assumptions.

Let me begin by saying that I am far from squeamish. I love true crime and am often frustrated by the lack of details provided about the crimes themselves or the psyche of the killers. This book leaves NOTHING OUT. It is graphic, almost to a fault the correspondence with the killers is bone chilling.

The narration was brilliant and made the letters from Gacy, and others spring to life in a way I sort of wish they hadn't.

I have always wondered what they were like, and now I think I know more than I wanted to.

Be warned, you can't unhear this book.

This book changed my life...again. As a true fan or the horror / thriller genre this book was spectacular. The writing was outstanding, the narration exceptional but there was something else.....something beautiful in it's undertones.

Without giving you TMI...I suffered a year 12 years ago that stopped my 3 time a week mass attendance. In a period of 12 months my husband and I lost our beloved dog. my father, his mother and our child. The impact this had on my faith was unfathomable.......until I finished this book. I attended Mass last Sunday for the first time and 12 years. Life is a cosmic balance, and there can be no good without evil, no evil without good.

Thank you Jonathon for jarring my faith and for one hell of a read.

It also wasn't great. I read and or listen to ALOT of books.....Seriously. On average I got thru 5-7 books a week my main focuses are horror, thriller, erotic romance, and humor. This should have fit into a couple of these genre's but it just didn't do it for me. Frankly I looked forward to it being over with so I could get on to my next book.

It wasn't bad....sort of "cute" I guess. It was a little like trying to make the best out of a bad fat blind date.

Frankly at 10 Bucks or one precious credit per very short story I'm sort of relieved I didn't love it.
From a guy who "does two things writes and teaches you to become legendary" I was expecting more "WOW" and "meh".

Sick of being treated like a robot, she taps into a powerful (and deranged) alter-ego and transforms into Sadie the Sadist.

I had seriously dubious thoughts about this title. I was looking for humor, and it is funny....the humor is definitely dark in a firefighter / cop / mortician vein. The book is twisted beyond imagination and frankly I'm a bit concerned about Sachs' mental health.

We watch Sadie come unwound...seriously unwound. In a Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy sort of spiral...only funnier.

This is not Jen Lancaster funny, or Tina Fey, but it is dark and twisted and.....funny.

Though not for the faint of heart, it is a great read and twisted in all the best ways.

Young, handsome, and well educated, Bateman earns his fortune on Wall Street by day while spending his nights in ways we cannot begin to fathom. Expressing his true self through torture and murder, Bateman prefigures an apocalyptic horror that no society could bear to confront.

I was wearing jean cut offs by 7, a baby doll T shirt, trainers by Brooks, sunglasses by whoever and a Fitbit Force.........

I literally had to make myself listen to this all the way thru. It's considered a bit of a classic and I have always put off reading it for fear of disappointment......and I was hugely disappointed.

The book is laden with narcissism and obnoxious self indulgence of the Yuppie Gen. The constant details of what everyone and anyone was wearing to extreme detail was eye rollingly bad and annoying. I found the book offensive to the extreme, and not for the reasons you might think. The horrific sadistic psychotic murder spree was not as unsettling as you might imagine, I'm sure at the time it was originally published it was shocking, but so much of it is old hat now.

I was even more disappointed with the anticlimactic ending....that just seemed to dangle in nowhere land.

Frankly, and I don't think I have ever said this before.......The movie was great, wish I had not read the book.

Book one of the series had just enough character development that I bought this because I was actually interested in seeing what would unfold. Despite the fact that this is just another series with a kinky millionaire who must have his way, I was entertained.

Now, I am approximately 1/4 of the eye rolling way thru this book and I have had all the "thrusting manhood", "Shattering Core", and "Pulsing womanhood" I can stand.

This is one average length novel, chopped into three teeth clenchingly bad novella's to collect 3 credits.

The narrator is better in Submit, but her tone is so low that you really have to focus on listening because any other noise in the house or car seems to drown her out.....thankfully I won't have to worry about that because I have had all the "lengthy shaft" I can stomach.

The Damaged Dominant seems to be a running theme these days, but this one pushes that beyond the norm. The first book was enjoyable, this one...I wanted to choke the crap out of both of them.

He's a disaster......with obsessive behaviors that border on abusive. The adolescent wall / window punching, trying to separate her from friends and family, jealousy driven outbursts manipulations and assorted other generally creepy attributes just start to grate on you about half way through. I'm not even delving into the Binge drinking / I'm not an alcoholic thread.

Her acceptance of his sabotaging her career, beating up random men, and karmic backlash of his "reckless" Life are just a little much.

Perhaps if we didn't push so hard for the trilogy this might have been ok......I would rather read one great book then three with random made up issues that border on psychosis to fill space.
