From the perilous ocean crossing to the shared bounty of the first Thanksgiving, the Pilgrim settlement of New England has become enshrined as our most sacred national myth. Yet, as best-selling author Nathaniel Philbrick reveals in his spellbinding new book, the true story of the Pilgrims is much more than the well-known tale of piety and sacrifice; it is a 55-year epic that is at once tragic, heroic, exhilarating, and profound.

John M says: "Fascinating book about a little-understood time"
    "Great Book and research"
    Overall

This was such a good book to listen to. The narrator was great. Since my family on both sides of my Mother's family came to America in the mid 1600 and my family on my Dad's side were from American Indian decent, this was really interesting. It really gives an appreciation for what people went through to form this country in the beginning. It wasn't perfect either then, but nothing is perfect until we get to heaven. It does though tell us that they didn't give up and they had much more strength than we do now. Too bad we are so complacent and whine too much about what we don't have instead of being thankful for what we do have.

Would you consider the audio edition of House of Bush, House of Saud to be better than the print version?

I really liked the narrator and think that he did a good job of keeping the book interesting in his voice inflection. I don't have time to read so if I listen, I sometimes listen twice to garner it as if I was reading it.

What did you like best about this story?

I believe 85% of it. I can't help think that the 9/11 attack on the trade center towers was not done also with bombs in the building. How and who put those in? I wish the author was able to research that since he did a good job with his research on this book.

If you could give House of Bush, House of Saud a new subtitle, what would it be?

    We pay, while they play.

    Any additional comments?

I liked this book and thought the author did a good job of putting it all out there.
I am a conservative but not a Bush Dynasty conservative. Ever since I heard George W. tell about his faith in Christianity back in 2005, and who he thought Jesus was, I knew that he was deceiving people of faith, pretending to have a relationship with Christ in order to garner their votes. This book explains somewhat why he would do such a thing. I think the only thing the Bush's seem to believe in is power, money and keeping their Dynasty going.

It truly makes me sick that our country has been put through so much war upon war. Americans are used to war and so the majority think nothing of it. Ya gotta give Bush's the credit that they really pulled the wool over our eyes for a long time. It is embarrassing actually that they continue to get away with it.

Year after year it is just to cover up the cover ups. All that the last Presidents in the last 105 years has done is play games with the power they have over so many. They certainly don't have a conscious. What they have is all the power over so many along with truly corrupt men who work under them that love these war games.
It is a wonder America has survived this long.

French philosopher Jean Paul Sartre said that "words are loaded pistols". In the hands of Russ Baker, they are hydrogen bombs. On each and every page of his masterpiece, Family of Secrets, he explodes the myths and lies that powerful forces have perpetrated on the American consciousness. He digs beneath the surface in a form of journalistic archeology to reveal the hidden history of one of America's most powerful families, leaving no stone unturned.

I have listened to other Jeffrey Archer books and this one was a disappointment.

What could Jeffrey Archer have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Given the reader a reason to want to listen or read more. Story was boring and overly detailed.

What didn’t you like about Jason Culp’s performance?

    I liked the Narrator

George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.

Dylan Ratigan is mad as hell. Infuriated by government corruption and corporate communism, incensed by banksters shaking down taxpayers, and despairing of an ailing health care system, an age-old dependency on foreign oil, and a failing educational system, Ratigan sees an America that has allowed itself to be swindled and robbed. In this book, his first, he rips the lid off our deeply crooked system—and offers a way out.

If you could sum up Greedy Bastards in three words, what would they be?

    HonestSensibleSolutions

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Author. He has a real grip on just who, what, why and how the Greedy Bastardsgot a hold on America and the best is he actually has very reasonable solutions to cut themoff at the knees.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    All of it!!

If you could give Greedy Bastards a new subtitle, what would it be?

    No conspiracy, just Greedy Bastards!

    Any additional comments?

For a change this book doesn't follow the same arguments and tired solutions but rather the author addresses the real issues in a easy to understand and enjoyable book. The author is the narrator and he did a grand job of it. There is not redundancy in this book so it gets to the point for every issue I have wanted to know more about and it is the first book that has actual solutions that are extremely reasonable and able to be done if there was more of the Golden Rule and less of the Greedy Bastards. This isn't a left or right, liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat book but it is about those that wish to divide us always into those categories. It is by far the best book I have listened to for years on Audible. I didn't think it was going to be any different than other books I have listened to about the mess our country is in and how it got to be this mess but I was so pleased just after the first chapter, that I was hooked on this book. The author has a true handle on the problems and solutions of our problems in America and they are actually believable and fixable. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink so only time will tell if his ideas will be taken seriously and used ever. This book should be a book to read for every high school student in America and we would possibly have then the greatest generation yet.

When the Messiah was asked what would be the signs of his coming and of the end of this age, He said, "As it was in the days of Noah…so shall it be." The main event that occurred in the days of Noah was the descent to Earth of the Nephilim. These were evil fallen angels who were responsible for the violence, bloodshed, and chaos which resulted in a worldwide flood. After the Apocalypse begins, these same fallen angels, plus Lucifer and all those who rebelled with him, will once again manifest on Earth in plain sight. They will be led by a man most call the Antichrist.

What did you love best about Return of the Antichrist and the New World Order?

    The message of Gods Word

What other book might you compare Return of the Antichrist and the New World Order to and why?

The book of Revelation by Clarence Larkin

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    All of it.

    Any additional comments?

An easy to hear and understand study of The book of Revelation of Jesus Christ. The author is also the narrator and at first I thought I would not like his accent and would have a hard time understanding him but as I listened he was very easy to listen to. He is not a professional reader but how he put the message into this short book makes his voice endearing. You can tell that he is truly a brother in Christ and that he truly wants to reach the listener that needs salvation through Jesus Christ. I will be sharing it with family members and friends because in a four hour time, he hits the meat of the scripture.

I really enjoyed this book and the narrator (Paul Michael) did a superb job. It never got dull and the story line was excellent. I will read more of Robert Ludlum books now. I appreciate the author not using fill words for the characters of every curse word but instead letting the characters have some character! Good book to listen to!!

I couldn't wait to finish this book. It just seemed to go on and on and on forever. This book made me sick to my stomach literally! I won't read another book of this author if it has to do with all this mythical crap. This is just an indoctrination into thinking the way the author wants you to think.
