  • The Lion's Game

    • UNABRIDGED (24 hrs and 49 mins)
    • By Nelson DeMille
    • Narrated By Scott Brick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

To survive in a game with no rules at all, John Corey must invent a strategy that includes no luck at all. He and the Anti-Terrorist Task Force must stop "The Lion," an alleged Libyan terrorist with the instincts of a wild animal, the bloodlust of a carnivore, and the boldness and speed of a cat of prey.

    Toni says: "Remarkable!"

The main character's personna took a little while to grow on me. His NY style personality seemed to be your stereo typical male chauvenist type...but he grew on me nonetheless because it was smartly written. The author knows how to create interactions among his characters that were devoid of annoying behaviors, yet still have their imperfections. This is an important criteria since annoying characters can really ruin a good story. Last, but not least, it was well read. I found myself laughing and chuckling quite a bit while i listened to this book. It was very entertaining.

  • Dead Heat, Political Thrillers Series #5

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 2 mins)
    • By Joel C. Rosenberg
    • Narrated By Phil Gigante
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

As a presidential campaign narrows into a dead heat, the Secret Service learns of a catastrophic terrorist plot to assassinate one of the candidates - but which one? Who do they want dead? And can U.S. forces stop the terrorists before millions lose their lives?

Andrew says: "Loved the Book Series!"
"It's not a story, but a sermon in disguise"

This book is a sermon in disguise under the umbrella of mystery writing. I'd attend bible study for a spiritual experience. i would not have purchase this book had i known what it was really about. the synopsis was well written to steer away from any religous reference, but that's pretty much what the book is about...Jews and Christ which would be fine if that's what the description of the book was about. I feel mislead and i do not recommend this book.

  • Tepper Isn't Going Out

    • UNABRIDGED (5 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By Calvin Trillin
    • Narrated By Calvin Trillin
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Tepper enjoys sitting in his car, reading his newspaper in peace. His car always seems to be parked in a prime spot and other drivers want to know if Tepper is going out. He isn't. This drives some people crazy - including the mayor - but leads others to think Tepper harbors some hidden wisdom. The tale that emerges is "refreshing and completely likable."

    George says: "Dog Stopping Funny"

Not recommended for those who do not live in cities where finding parking is a daily challenge, especially in front of one's own home. As a result, any profoundness, or humor is lost to me for the most part.

Incredible writing with complexity but without the confusion that often comes with a complicated and deep writing.

Great listen. Not a book for CIA enthusiasts though.

In a life-imitates-art firestorm, a gang of masked men converged on the delivery and robbed the armored car with guns blazing. The crime was never resolved, and the young woman's murder was in the stack of unsolved-case files Bosch carried home the night he left the LAPD.

    Harris says: "Dashel Hammet Redux"
    "Enjoyed it."

Twists and turns in the plot keeps you rivetted to your listening device. Would recommend this to others.

Deborah says: "A beautiful way to absorb fascinating history..."
    "Good lesson in Philosophy"

This is a good listen. Though not an exciting read, it is enlightening, and mindful. Highly recommends this book for the wisdom in the message of the story.
