Challenging Moral questions - well worth the effort. Clive Mantle does a fine job balancing the tension.
Mr. Andrews has produced a wonderfully entertaining and historical biography of Napoleon. Erroneously connected to Hitler from the mid 20th century, Napoleon is presented on the terms of the 18th and 19th century. Very insightful!
The plot is ok; the dialogue -priceless!!!!
The author capture a certain time and place with precision, humor and grace! Well worth your time!
The author is thorough and the material very dense. The narrator was competent but offered little passion. I finished the book - but it was a chore. Great topic. Not a great experience.
It was Great story, it was well written, it was well read! It was a wonderful experience!
Thank you to all involved!
Mr. Carroll presents an insightful christology. I appreciate the importance of the roman/jewish wars in a new way. There are several other aspects that make the listen ultimately have value, but - for me - it lacked a passion that I was hoping for. I heard echoes of the 60's & 70's theology as well as the mandatory nod to the backdrop of the holocaust, nuclear war and quantum physics, however, I don't think he answers his ultimate question - "who is Jesus, actually?" in a way that can be understood by people w/o a strong background in Theology. He quotes "theology is for the elite and myth is for the masses". I guess I need more reflection on the "myth!"
Mr. Shafer writes very well. He has created interesting characters that have the potential for considerable depth; they are appropriately "snarky" & hip! His world is terrifying possible, and the thesis could be right from tomorrow's news.
My disappointment is that (IMHO) the plot took forever to develop and the best part - the last part of the book was what i was hoping to encounter throughout the whole piece. I wish there had been considerable editing and the end of the book actually be the middle of the book. This book would make more sense if these characters will be part of a series...
Mr. Clark's performance is terrific and the reason I stayed with the book until the end.
I was a liberal art major in College. Money, to me, just sort of "was." Mr. Ferguson takes the listener through a delightful history of money and economy and allows one to see how we got where we are.
Who doesn't love a story about ruthless killer, with a moral compass? Mr. Greaney had me hook w/in the first few pages and took me for a wonderful ride. Looking forward to the other stories in the series.
Mr. Madden has done his homework. This work is a fine introduction to the long and sometimes sorted history of the papacy.
Twists, turns, romance, savage battles, and intelligent writing! Mr. Tufo respects his audience whether they be young adults or an old fart like me! I enjoyed my time with this story and returning to the ever expanding Tufo universe!
