It's very rare that I give up on a book, whether I'm reading it or listening to it, but I just couldn't make it past the first third of this story. The narrator was fine, but the story just never grabbed me and the overall experience was one I found tedious. In the end, I had too many other books waiting to be listened to for me to spend any more time on this one.
If, like me, you grew up reading (and loving) Adams' novels, you'll be pleased with this audio version. Stephen Fry does a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. Highly recommend.
They aren't going to change your life, but the Dresden Files are entertaining books that certainly make long car trips, working out, cleaning, etc, a lot more enjoyable. James Marsters does a very good job bringing the characters to life, and overall I really enjoyed his narration. It's not quite as flawless as other narrators, but his voice has a very melodic quality that makes it easy to listen to for extended periods.
