  • Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?: A Rock 'n' Roll Memoir

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 1 min)
    • By Steven Tyler
    • Narrated By Jeremy Davidson

The son of a classical pianist straight out of the Bronx of old Archie comics, Steven Tyler was born to be a rock star. Weaned on Cole Porter, Nat King Cole, Mick and his beloved Janis Joplin, Tyler began tearing up the streets and the stage as a teenager before finally meeting his "mutant twin" and legendary partner, Joe Perry. In this addictively listenable memoir, Tyler unabashedly recounts the meteoric rise, fall, and rise of Aerosmith over the last three decades and riffs on the music that gives it all meaning.

Damian says: "Reads true to the man and true to music"
"Awesome book, Narrated just as well"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this audiobook to any fan of Aerosmith or interested in what goes on inside a band...good and bad.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Steven Tyler, it's his memoir

Have you listened to any of Jeremy Davidson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    I don't think so

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    The entire audiobook!

    Any additional comments?

I am a fan, not a fanatic but I LOVED this book. I've listened to it six times in the past week and it never ever gets old. I wish Joe Perry would put out his memoir on audiobook to compare. Steven Tyler pulls you right into the (band) audiobook. This is simply a great listen!

  • Life

    • UNABRIDGED (23 hrs and 8 mins)
    • By Keith Richards, James Fox
    • Narrated By Johnny Depp, Joe Hurley
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Now at last Keith Richards pauses to tell his story in the most anticipated autobiography in decades. And what a story! Listening obsessively to Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters records in a coldwater flat with Mick Jagger and Brian Jones, building a sound and a band out of music they loved. Finding fame and success as a bad-boy band, only to find themselves challenged by authorities everywhere....

    Jesse says: "Ins and outs"
    "Story is good, Narration Sucks"
    What disappointed you about Life?

The tiny part narrated by Johnny Depp was ok, but the rest of the listen I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND MOST OF IT. you are doing a disservice to your customers by using Johnny Depp's part for the sample and then Joe Hurley steps in for the majority of the audiobook and understanding him was impossible for me!

Would you ever listen to anything by Keith Richards and James Fox again?

Yes if it was narrated by someone I COULD UNDERSTAND. This is the only reason I gave it two stars.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Johnny Depp and Joe Hurley ?

What character would you cut from Life?

None, the story was good from what I could understand.

    Any additional comments?

You should include Joe Hurley in the sample so that your customers know what they are purchasing. The story is the only reason I gave it two stars, otherwise if I could I would have given it zero stars.

  • Scar Tissue

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 55 mins)
    • By Anthony Kiedis, Larry Sloman
    • Narrated By Rider Strong
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

As lead singer and songwriter for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis has lived life on the razor's edge. Much has been written about him, but until now we've only had his songs as clues to his experience from the inside. In Scar Tissue, Kiedis proves himself to be as compelling a memoirist as he is a lyricist, giving us a searingly honest account of the life from which his music has evolved.

Nicole says: "Up Close and Personal with Anthony Kiedis"
    "Horrible book"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

All it was was sex, sex, and kinky sex. I was looking for an actual band story read where I could understand it.

Has Scar Tissue turned you off from other books in this genre?

How could the performance have been better?

Narrator was easily understandable but the story NEEDED less crazy kinky tied up sex.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

A little anger but GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

    Any additional comments?

I would not recommend this book to ANYONE!
