Marc Royce works for the State Department on special assignments, most of them rather routine, until two CIA operatives go missing in Iraq--kidnapped by Taliban forces bent on generating chaos in the region. Two others also drop out of sight--a high-placed Iraqi civilian and an American woman providing humanitarian aid. Are the disappearances linked?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It's a great read. Very well researched and timely. I felt that I got to understand the Muslim faith better and my own faith better. Well done!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared.....

What a heart-wrenching story of an American hero. I found a quote from the book while I was looking for a sermon illustration. I used the quote in my sermon and one of my listeners asked me about one of the characters from the book. Caught flat-footed, I admitted that I just needed the quote. He quickly convinced me that the book was impossible to put down and I owed it to myself to read the whole thing. He was absolutely right. I could hardly put it down.

The companion to the bestselling The Heavenly Man, Living Water shares the vision of one of China's most dedicated, courageous, and intensely persecuted house church leaders. Brother Yun's dramatic life story and teachings offer a message that inspires and challenges Christians to live out a passionate commitment to serve Jesus Christ.

Would you ever listen to anything by Brother Yun again?

I have read and listened to Brother Yun's Heavenly Man, and enjoyed it so much I wanted more. Living Water was and is an answer to prayer. More than just teaching; more than just testimony: this book has a fresh anointing and ministry of its own. I would easily rank it with Fresh Wind Fresh Fire as a handbook for the awakening movement in Christ's church.

Make time to read and listen to these chapters. Each one stands on its own as a personal and corporate message for the Church.
