    awesome as always

    Any additional comments?

At the beginning of the story I thought it was going to be a re-do of The Stand. It quickly took a right turn and twisted from there. The ending surprised me a bit.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The book isn't bad. Pretty well written. When you do listen to it, keep in mind that it is not mindless fluff that you can have playing while you do other things, you have to pay attention.

If you’ve listened to books by G. Wayne Miller before, how does this one compare?

This is my first book by this author.

Which character – as performed by Joel Richards – was your favorite?

I don't think I had a favorite, they were all good.

Did Thunder Rise inspire you to do anything?

    Not really

Loving someone, and being in love, isn't always the same thing. That's what Eve Daniels is trying to come to terms with when Jake Spencer suddenly returns to her life after 10 years of silence. Haunted by a past he had no power to control, Jake left everyone and everything behind in hopes of saving Eve from his demons. His one regret was breaking her heart.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Not sure I would really change anything except the pace. It was a tad slow.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It ended exactly the way I expected, no surprises.

Would you be willing to try another one of Leyna Baltimore’s performances?

Maybe, it would depend on the genre. Maybe poetry or a classic but the seductive voice just isn't there.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably not. It was a cute love story, and worth a read but not the kind of movie I would go to.

  • Who, What, Where, When, Die: An Avery Shaw Mystery, Book 1

Avery Shaw is having a bad week. First, she had to cover a story on a barricaded gunman who likes to dance naked in his window. Second, she's receiving death threats with her morning newspaper. Lastly, and most importantly, her mom keeps vetoing her outfit choices. It's all in a day's work for this hardworking, if easily distracted, reporter. Avery Shaw is hot on the trail of the story, even if it means tangling with her hot ex-boyfriend - the county sheriff - and the equally hot, if slightly shadier pawnshop owner down the street.

What did you like best about Who, What, Where, When, Die? What did you like least?

This was a cute story that had great potential. Avery and her fan girl tendencies are a riot

What was most disappointing about Amanda M. Lee’s story?

That it seemed to just end ... abruptly. It was an obvious set up for the next book I just wasn't fond of it.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator's voice wasn't bad but I did not like the way she read the book. I wan't someone to paint the picture for me (lazy? maybe) but Ms Clark merely read the story. Over enunciated at times.

Was Who, What, Where, When, Die worth the listening time?

I will read the next book.

The murder was so appalling even a hardened agent like FBI medical examiner Dr. Jessica Coran was shocked - the spinal cord had been literally ripped from the woman's back. Ghastly as it was, it wasn't unique. A man had already been convicted of killing his wife in the exact same fashion. Is the doomed death-row prisoner innocent? There's only one thing for Jessica to do: find the real killer.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes but it's a long winded book. If there's an abridged version, I would recommend that first.

Would you be willing to try another book from Robert W. Walker? Why or why not?

I probably would. I like his writing, it kept me interested, wasn't thrilled with the narrator.

Did Jill Maglione do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Wasn't a fan, most of the accents, with the exception of Sharp, all sounded the same.

Do you think Absolute Instinct needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

All ends were wrapped up. I could see more Jessica books, with other adventures.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was a cute story, but time would have been better spend reading it.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I liked the story, but the narrator made is difficult. She reminded me of being in high school English and having someone read a passage from the text book. Very little emotion, pauses in the wrong spots ad stumbles. I think this would be much better if it had read it vs. listened to it.

There was nothing to like about her performance.

Where does If You'd Just Listened to Me in the First Place... rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's a cute short story, it would rate in the upper tier of short stories

What other book might you compare If You'd Just Listened to Me in the First Place... to and why?

I don't know if there is another book I'd compare it to, but I would certainly compare it to a few ladies that I know LOL

Would you listen to another book narrated by Carrie Lee Martz?

I would. I'm not sure about her Louisiana accent though, sounded more from Georgia (too picky? ;-))

Who was the most memorable character of If You'd Just Listened to Me in the First Place... and why?

Cap'n Jack is by far the most memorable. Although my dad does not live on the Bayou (he's about 3 hours Northwest of Covington), my dad and Cap'n Jack could be the same guy!
