Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

    "Great, Great Book"
    Overall

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end, I listened to the entire thing on an overseas flight in one sitting, that is quite a feat for me. I loved the characters and the animals were wonderfully described (Queenie made me miss my dog even more than normal), and the narration was nothing less than superb.

Imagine answering your cell phone one day to a male voice that gives you three minutes to confess your sin. If you don't, the madman, Slater, will blow your car to smithereens. You barely manage to exit heavy traffic and ditch the car when, precisely three minutes later, your car blows sky high. The media and police descend on the scene; your world has just changed forever.

A hard book to recommend, but I do. Weird, a little clumsily written, and at best so-so narration, if you dig deep monotone all the time (even for a little girl) you'll love it. That being said it took many interesting turns and an ending that genuinely surprised me.

You think you know about Islam. But, did you know that Islam teaches that Muslims must wage war to impose Islamic law on non-Muslim states, or that American Muslim groups are engaged in a huge cover-up of Islamic doctrine? These and other "politically incorrect" facts are revealed by Robert Spencer in The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades).

    "great book"
    Overall

Every appeaser should read this book, an honest look at the "peaceful" religion of Islam straight from the horse's mouth (The Quran). Spencer make his points and backs each and every one up with the text quoted directly from their holiest of books. Very informative, though disturbing. Wake up America, this threat is real.
