Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back. The brassy babe in the powder blue Buick has been given the unpopular task of finding Mo Bedemier, Trenton's most beloved citizen, arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, gone no-show for his court appearance. Once again, the entire One for the Money crew is in action, searching for Mo, tripping down a trail littered with dead drug dealers, leading Stephanie to suspect Mo may be in over his head.

If you could sum up Three to Get Deadly in three words, what would they be?

    Mo meets match.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lula is my favorite character. She has spunk and makes me laugh.

Would you listen to another book narrated by C. J. Critt?

I would listen to another book by CJ Critt. She has an older, possibly smokers voice and I don't think it fits Stephanie's character very well, but she does a decent job. Her voices for the other characters aren't bad. I have listened to the other books in the series that she has done and I don't feel it detracts from the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I enjoyed the book, but I didn't need to listen to it all in one sitting. It was enjoyable, but not riveting.

    Any additional comments?

This is a fun addition to the Stephanie Plum series. It's worth a listen.

A member of the elite Hawk force that protects the City of Elantra, Kaylin Neya has sacrificed much to earn the respect of the winged Aerians and immortal Barrani she works alongside. But the mean streets she escaped as a child aren't the ones she's vowed to give her life guarding. Those were much darker....

    Story
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I like this series and would say that listening to this story made my commute more enjoyable.

If you’ve listened to books by Michelle Sagara before, how does this one compare?

This is one of the weaker books. The plot was ok but the book was long and I felt the overall story of Kaylin hardly progressed at all. Compared to earlier books it felt less polished.

Did Khristine Hvam do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

KH usually does a smashing job of nailing all the character voices but at the end of this book she started confusing the characters and using the wrong voices for characters she has nailed in the past. It was confusing because I am used to certain voices for certain characters.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

If this were a movie I would like to see it.

    Any additional comments?

Don't let this book affect your opinion of the series. The earlier books are very enjoyable. I wouldn't skip this book because it does add to the story, but I am not sure I will listen to it again.

If you could sum up Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter in three words, what would they be?

    Enjoyable "chick" mystery.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot was relatively predictable but the story kept up a decent pace. I wasn't suprised by the ending but enjoyed the "ride".

What aspect of Julia Gibson’s performance would you have changed?

There were times when the narration was too fast, especially when one chapter ended and another began. The words ran together and it was irritating at times. It isn't enough to keep me from listening to other books by this narrator.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I thought by the title that there might be some humor in the book, but that wasn't the case. If you are looking for a lighthearted murder mystery, this really isn't it. There were parts of the book that were very sad, but not enough to evoke tears.

    Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the story and will listen to other books by this author and narrator. If you like mysteries and animals you will like this book.

Where does Here, There Be Dragons rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This ranks in my four star collection. James Langton does a great job with the characters and the story is imaginative and enjoyable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I like Charles. He has attitude and I thought he was funny.

Have you listened to any of James Langton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to James Langton before but I will in the future. I truly enjoyed his performance.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the end when you found out who the charcters really are... You have to listen and see for yourself!

    Any additional comments?

I love the references to other books, writers and historical characters. For me, that made the story truly sing. If you are an avid reader you will like this book.

What did you love best about Bossypants?

    The blantant honesty.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tina is my favorite character. I love the way she thinks and how honest she is.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Sometimes she talked very fast and then would drop off in a mumble. I listen in my car while I commute and that made it hard to hear and understand her sometimes.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed over and over again.

    Any additional comments?

If you like Tina Fey you will love this book.

Would you try another book from Kristan Higgins and/or Justine Eyre?

I probably would try another book from both. I "listened" to Catch of the Day and enjoyed it very much. Was disappointed in the storyline for this one.

Would you ever listen to anything by Kristan Higgins again?

Yes I would listen to another book by Kristan.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Actually, I liked the narrator. I though she was the best part of the book. I liked the different voices she used for different charcters.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

I think the story had potential, but I thought it fell short in many aspects. Especially in areas regarding Nicky and James' family. It also lacked the humor that can make a romance irresistible.

    Any additional comments?

Try listening to Catch of the Day first. Not only will it familiarize you with the characters, it is the better of the two books.

Olivia Kiskey needs a change. She’s been working at the same Nodaway Falls, New York, waffle house since she was a teenager; not a lot of upward mobility there. She’s been in love with Tobias, the cook, for the last four years; he's never made a move. Intent on shaking things up, Olivia puts her house on the market, buys a one-way ticket to Europe, and announces her plans to her friends - but then she meets Davina Granville, a strange and mystical Southern woman....

Would you try another book from Lucy March and/or Amanda Ronconi?

I would try another book from either one.

Would you recommend A Little Night Magic to your friends? Why or why not?

It is an entertaining book and I would probably recommend it to a friend who is interested in "magic" stories. The narration was good but the story itself was only 3 stars. It would not be my first recommentation but it would be on the list.

Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favorite?

Amanda portrayed Liv and Davina really well.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably not. Usually movies based on the book lose something in the translation and this book, while entertaining on my commute, was not a must read.

    Any additional comments?

Liv could have been a great character, but she made some unrealistically stupid decisions. I thought this detracted from the quality of the story.

For Sig Hansen and his brothers, commercial fishing is as much a part of their Norwegian heritage as their names. Descendents of the Vikings who roamed and ruled the northern seas for centuries, the Hansens' connection to the sea stretches from Alaska to Seattle and all the way to Norway. And after twenty years as a skipper on the commercial fishing vessel the Northwestern - which was his father's before him - Sig has lived to tell the tales.

Would you listen to North by Northwestern again? Why?

I will listen to this again. It is a great book filled with history and interesting facts.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sig, Edgar and their Dad are the best characters in the book. They are real people who have worked hard and I enjoy listening to the their story.

Which character – as performed by Rick Adamson – was your favorite?

I thought Rick did a great job as Sig. I have watched every episode of Deadliest Catch and at first I thought it would be weird to listen to someone other than Sig read the story but Rick was great.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were a few emotional moments in the book, but I am not going to spoil it for other listeners. I laughed may times.

    Any additional comments?

This is a worthy book. I got it with a credit, but after listening to it I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

When it was first published in 1979, this novel introduced inspirational fiction to people hungry for well-told stories based on Christian values. W says: "Good, gentle audiobook"
    "Good story, unpleasant narrator."
    Overall

I love this book and have a hard copy, but like to listen to them on my commute and during my workouts. It is a wonderfully sweet story. I love Janette Oke. However, I have to say that I believe the narrator was a mistake. She has a somewhat grating voice and she sounds very old, while the character in the story is a young woman. Very disconcering. I think this one is better read than listened to.
