Creole Belle begins where the last book in the Dave Robicheaux series, The Glass Rainbow, ended. Dave is in a recovery unit in New Orleans, where a Creole girl named Tee Jolie Melton visits him and leaves him an iPod with the country blues song “Creole Belle” on it. Then she disappears. Dave becomes obsessed with the song and the memory of Tee Jolie and goes in search of her sister, who later turns up inside a block of ice floating in the Gulf.

I couldn't wait for the follow-up to The Glass Rainbow to come out in audio and, when it did, I was not disappointed. The story and characters (especially Clete's secretary!), as always, were wonderful and imaginative. And, best of all, Will Patton's narration was spot on! I will definitely listen to this one again. A toast to you, James Lee Burke, for yet another awesome novel!

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

I'm always like, "yeah, yeah" when I hear there will be a follow-up to an already amazing book because the sequel almost never really measures up. But, in the case of Dr. Sleep...you are the master, Stephen King! I loved everything about this audio book: the story, all of the characters and, as always, Will Patton did a truly wonderful narration (when I read Will Patton would narrate; I got very excited and preordered the book). I don't want to spoil any of the details for the "reader." If you've read The Shining, you owe it to yourself to listen to this story; you will love it -- I did and I will be listening to it again.

Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

Having read Heart Shaped Box, I wasn't surprised that Joe Hill had another great story to tell and he did with creepy and heart-racing style. The characters were wonderfully brought to life by Kate Mulgrew. The combination of story and narrative made this one of my favorite listens.

Oslo in November. The first snow of the season has fallen. A boy named Jonas wakes in the night to find his mother gone. Out his window, in the cold moonlight, he sees the snowman that inexplicably appeared in the yard earlier in the day. Around its neck is his mother’s pink scarf. Hole suspects a link between a menacing letter he’s received and the disappearance of Jonas’s mother - and of perhaps a dozen other women, all of whom went missing on the day of a first snowfall. As his investigation deepens, something else emerges: he is becoming a pawn....

This is my first Jo Nesbo book and I was just blown away at how great it was! I will be listening to The Leopard next and am convinced the story and narration will be just as great as The Snowman. Listen to this audiobook. You'll be glad you did!

What a great book! I love the way the characters flashed back into their pasts and relayed to the reader everything within their environments including how female detectives were treated (badly!) back in the day. It was a gripping story and I will definitely start at book 1 of this series. Kathleen Early's narration was very, very good which only added to my enjoyment of this story. Kudos, Karin Slaughter!

I didn't know how I would feel about this audio book. I listened mainly because I wasn't due for two new books for a couple more weeks. But, I listened to this story and from the very first chapter, I knew I would enjoy it. The three main characters are brought together again after a murder(?) 17 years ago and as the story unfolded, I must have guessed four different people who could have done the deed and didn't really guess correctly until close to the end of the book. It was simply great. Scott Brick did an excellent narration. I will definitely listen to more stories by this author and narrator.

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

I truly enjoyed 11-22-63. It was a different "King" as he spins a tale of time travel and love, as well as a historical of the events surrounding the Kennedy assassination. This was a credit well spent and I will recommend this novel to my friends. Way to go Stephen King! You still rock!

Thirty years ago two sisters disappeared from a shopping mall. Their bodies were never found, and those familiar with the case have always been tortured by these questions: How do you kidnap two girls? Who or what could have lured the two sisters away from a busy mall on a Saturday afternoon without leaving behind a single clue or witness? Now a clearly disoriented woman involved in a rush-hour hit-and-run claims to be the younger of the long-gone Bethany sisters.

I am usually pretty great about guess the ending of murder or "mystery" novels, but I have to hand it to the author, Laura Lippman, I was totally surprised by this book. I enjoyed it very much and was happy it wasn't predictable. The characters were believable and the story was too. I will recommend this one to all my friends.
