Yes, great book.
Hosseini is a talented writer and story teller. I should have done a character list. Listening to books is different from reading books....
If you are looking for an easy to follow (not complicated) book that will entertain but not demand that you hear every word, then this is your book. The subject matter is unique but not what I was hoping for.... I liked Mitch A's other books better.
AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING.
I enjoyed the tempo -- the unexpected turns and twists -- the author's ability to take a very delicate topic and write about it in an unexpected way.
The relationship between Verity and the Gestapo....
This is a MUST read. Not all books fall into that category but this book does.
If you enjoy historical fiction -- if you want to be entertain/transported to another time but like to learn something new about a period in time, this book is for you.
I like books that you never want to end. This is one of those....enjoy!
If you have never read Wally Lamb's novels, stop whatever you are doing/reading and get one. ALL OF THEM ARE EXCELLENT. He writes long books that you never want to end. I love his books so much I have read a few of them twice. I finish the book. Usually cry. And start on page 1 for a second read.
Accurate. Original. Page turner.
Her boyfriend. He must be an amazing man and I could relate to her need for this man in her life.
The Bear is about an A-....I am very happy I purchased it and listened to it. I highly recommend the book -- it is written from the little girl's perspective. I cried a couple of times and laughed out loud as well. Excellent book.
I liked it because it made me laugh and cry.
Her voice and delivery.
The story is told from a little girl's perspective. I don't believe I have ever listened to a book told from a 4 year old's viewpoint. Interesting, enlightening and poignant.
Yes. It is a MUST read.
Amanda is tied up in the shape of the letter "U" for days....She finds her house in the sky during this time. It is not the discovery but the emotion I felt listening to her torture. I will never forget this. Nor will I forget when she discovers mold growing on her face.
I loved the book because it was a true story. I learn many things I didn't know before reading her story. I am more aware when I read the news looking for kidnappings overseas. Amanda tells the rape details perfectly. Amanda's capacity for forgiveness is amazing? Inspiring? Unbelievable? Depressing? I can't describe what she went through -- the book must be read. Also watch her on Dateline NBC....
didn't read the book
Very good book. Made me laugh out loud several times. It was light and fun to listen to.
