Some of the stories were really good and others were just okay. Overall I gave this anthology 3 stars rather than 4 because the editing from story to story included less than a breath's space. I was so frustrated! The story would end and becasue of the nature of these stories and often an unexpected ending, I would have liked to have had a few seconds of silence before the next story. Instead it felt liek the next story started before the narrator of the last story even took a breath. It was very distracting and annoying.
The first half of the book was a rehash of all the older books. Nothing new, nothing interesting. I kept listening because I thought eventually there must be some big reveal but there wasn't.
The material that was new and furthered the story would have made a great short story but not a novel.
The first 14 chapters.
If you've read the Interview with a Vampire, the Vampire Lestat, or Queen of the Damned, don't both with this book. If you haven't read those before, do so instead of this one.
The narrator Simon Vance was awesome. I'm going to look for more books that he narrated.
Will Paton's narration was excellent. It added a level of scare that I don't think I would have gotten if I had read the book myself.
Absolutely! Wonderful story, characters and questions of existence. This was such a delightful surprise since I had not heard of the author before or read reviews of the book. George Guidall is one of my favorite narrators and is once again excellent
